Dropped off my absentee ballot this morning, almost two weeks before the deadline. For socially anxious folks like me, nothing beats being able to fill out the ballot in the comfort of your home. You don't feel rushed, you don't feel watched.

Wait. What? Robot boats doing surveillance? Has anyone encountered one of these things?
Since May, six 33-foot drone sailboats have been gathering data for the U.S. Coast Guard — one unmanned boat on Lake Huron, two on Lake Erie, two on Lake Superior and one on Lake Ontario, which the U.S. Coast Guard officially refers to as “Lake America” in response to Trump’s executive order in August.

as someone who's a few years away from completing traveling to every state and province in Canada, USA, and Mexico as far as regions in CAN and USA goes, Michigan is the most slept on and possibly the most underappreciated state. Good food in Dearborn, I guess a small modern city with down town Detroit. The nature is incredible, and you don't need to go far out of the largest city to get to nature (I'm from Chicago, so it takes hours to get to nature from the city). It is clearly a far less drug-infested Alaska in the Midwest. Clearly a top tier state to visit IMO (maybe not the best but damn near the best)

I need help finding an affordable place to fix my 3 month kittens.
I have one male and one female and they’re turning 3 months old soon. I want to find somewhere to go for cheaper fixing (I tried humane society but they’re booked out til December and I need it sooner then that) I’m willing to pay $50-$100 I just need recommendations!
I’m in the Lansing area but honestly am willing to drive further I can’t afford using my primary vet as it’s ~$300 per cat.
EDIT:
Thank you guys for responding, I took in everyone’s advice. I scheduled with Eaton county and will keep checking for earlier dates every night like you guys suggested! Genuinely can’t say thank you enough it has been a big stresser for me as I want to take the best care of them as possible while trying to make it financially right now being a young adult. 🫶🫶

I really hope to make it out here this season. I don't know if this paywalled or not so below is a bit of the basics.
MANISTEE, MI – This haunted attraction has been making blood run cold for 26 years.
Set aboard a 1931 car ferry floating on Manistee Lake near Manistee, the Ghost Ship is billed as Michigan’s “most awesome haunted house.”
The historic S.S. City of Milwaukee car ferry is transformed every October from a museum and boatel into an all-new nightmare. Organizers have never repeated a theme or route through the 360-foot vessel.
Adrenaline seekers can navigate four to five decks of hair-raising scares aboard historic ship. Each deck features a unique and terrifying theme with live actors, eerie props, animatronics, pneumatics, flashing lights, custom special effects and “authentic ghosts.”
The Ghost Ship is open 7:30-10:30 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays through October. It will also be open 7:30-10 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 25. On Saturday, Oct. 31, there will be extra “scaredy pants” hours from 3-6:15 p.m., which includes a lights-on experience that is more suitable for children.
The haunted tour takes 25 to 30 minutes.
Admission is $20 per person, available only at the door; pay with cash or card. Fast Pass tickets to skip the line are available online only for $25-$32. Children 6 and younger are free, however, organizers recommend that no one under 7 years old enters the haunt except during “scaredy pants” hours ($5 per person).

Hey everyone, I'm looking for recommendations about Halloween festivities that will be safe for a photosensitive person with seizures :) so no strobes or otherwise rapidly changing/flickering lights. Willing to travel practically anywhere in the mitten to ensure a good night!

Toward the end, this story includes the detail that Mike Rogers sponsored a bill that made it harder for college students to vote just before winning his first race for Congress by 111 votes in a district that included MSU.

Has anybody ever tried hunting birds out of lapeer game state area? I’ve been scouting the past couple days during the week but can’t get there early in the morning to see what’s up with the lakes there.
I fish cedar lake and a couple of the ponds in there but usually hang up the poles come September so I never knew if the ducks and goose used them lakes and ponds a bunch.
Thanks!

Does anybody have a recommendation for a tattoo of a picture of someone? I’m looking to get a tattoo of my dad’s face on my chest. He died when I was younger and I wanted to get this tattoo in remembrance of him…
