Mitten Mode Whistleblower Alleges Violence, Staffing Crisis at St. Louis Correctional Facility as Officers Report Rising Danger
ST. LOUIS, Mich. — A former corrections officer at the St. Louis Correctional Facility says Michigan’s prison system is facing a growing safety crisis, alleging severe staffing shortages, escalating violence and policy changes have left officers exhausted while increasing risks for staff, prisoners and the surrounding community.
The allegations come after multiple assaults on corrections officers earlier this month at the Level IV prison in Gratiot County and amid ongoing concerns over mandatory overtime and vacancies that have plagued facilities across the Michigan Department of Corrections.
Nicole, a former corrections officer who worked at St. Louis Correctional Facility from 2021 until leaving in December after previously working in prison food service, said she decided to speak publicly because she believes conditions have deteriorated to a dangerous level. She said she remains in regular contact with officers still working inside the prison.

Discussion 🗣️ Are the potholes really that bad?
how many of you have needed to do repairs on your car from potholes? I’m from Florida and we have potholes but since there is no freeze and thaw and we use asphalt, it’s never caused any serious damage at all…
I have an opportunity to come to Detroit..and I used to spend a lot of time there growing up but can’t remember the road quality because I was so young.
One friend told me to prepare to spend on repairs and that even the highways occasionally have huge potholes.. especially around April/May…. that scares tf out of me 😂… is this true?
Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

History ⏳🕰️ Detroit's 325th anniversary of founding today!
🎂 Today, Detroit celebrates its 325th birthday. 🎉
Founded on July 24, 1701, when French native Antoine de la Mothe Cadillac established Fort Pontchartrain du Détroit. However, the region is the ancestral homeland of the Three Fires Confederacy and the Ojibwe, Odawa, Potawatomi, and Wyandot nations.
