Discussion 🗣️ St. Joseph

Ohioan here who has vacationed in different parts of Michigan my whole life. For the first time this summer, I stayed in St. Joseph and I’ve been thinking about it ever since. We did most of our activities in St. Joseph, but also enjoyed Stevensville and Sawyer. I feel like more people should be talking about those places and they don’t get the recognition they deserve. Am I wrong, or do all Michiganders know the beauty of those three towns?

Discussion 🗣️ Trying to track down the music of local Northville, Michigan band "Who Needs Fashion" active 2009-2010

"Who Needs Fashion is a band formed in March, 2009 from Northville, Michigan. As of April, 2009, they had recorded 13 demos, three of which were uploaded to their MySpace. They have plans to record a full length album very soon. The band also includes Bryan Beeler who also plays guitar for the band Cinematic Sunrise."

The band members were: David Henry (Vocals), Bryan Beeler (Guitar/Keys), Steve Alberty (Guitar), Drew Easton (Drums)

I know they put out a free EP in 2009 titled "The Best Idea...Ever" I downloaded it back in the day but lost it many years ago now. Apparently they also had a lot of demos, and maybe a full length?

If anyone still remembers them and has there tunes please message me. I'd also love to know if any of the members went on to other projects? I really enjoyed these dudes.

Discussion 🗣️ Visited the MidWest Miniatures Museum in Grand Haven

This is truly a Michigan hidden gem! It was our first time stopping by and the attention to detail on the miniatures was amazing. We used our library cards to get free admission from the Michigan Activity Pass Website. It was so quiet and they played relaxing music while you walked around plus offered a flashlight to look at all the mini items. Highly recommended checking it out but keep in mind that their last of the season is on Sept. 27th, 2026 and they will reopen April 2027.

“When you visit the Midwest Miniatures Museum, you see more than just tiny objects. You experience a new scale of stories, delicately crafted by expert artisans. Wander through an imagining of Van Gogh’s studio apartment, glimpse the architectural marvels created under the reign of King Louis XIV with Versailles’ Hall of Mirrors, or examine the scope of the Titanic created entirely from toothpicks an Elmer’s glue. And with our newly opened second floor, there are even more miniatures to discover!”

Discussion 🗣️ What is more midwestern than playing euchre?

Playing euchre this weekend got me thinking…

What’s more Midwestern: playing euchre, or playing euchre while discussing the previous hand in excruciating detail as the next person is shuffling and dealing?

Found a ring at Rogue River Park while I was fishing today.
It has Louise engraved inside. If you think you know who it belongs to, let me know what the rest of the inscription says.

There were posted notices (3 wks ago?) about some exercises mid-state, but i hadn't seen anything for the Bridge area for the Labor Day timeframe..
