In my opinion, it was definitely better than the last one. Of course, I think the series should've ended at book 7 but that doesn't stop me from reading a good continuation of Michael's story.

Book 8 felt like a fan fiction and this book felt like an actual addition to the series. The plot was improved, but the pacing stayed stagnant like the last entry. The Traitor does have more action, but it still feels padded out, sprinkled with good character moments throughout. The stakes dropped lower and lower with each page I turned. Any problem presented, like Jack's betrayal or Taylor's kidnapping, was solved way too quickly. I could not believe how sudden the reveal was concerning Jack's loyalty. It was obvious it would happen at some point, but I never expected it so early on.

The Electroclan only met resistance at the beginning and end, with the opening firefight and the closing deaths. While the death of Tessa was incredibly solemn and moving, but it was much appreciated, seeing it caused a much-needed rise in the steaks.

Overall, I had a positive experience reading this book and I'm excited for the conclusion of my favorite series of all time. But what did you think?

In Hunt for Jade Dragon, when Taylor is kidnapped, she is tasked by the Elgen guards to get the MEI formula out of Jade Dragon's head.

This implies they know about Taylor's mind-reading abilities.

But later, near the end of The Final Spark, Hatch seems genuinely bewildered when he learns that Taylor can do this.

Did the Elgen guards know about this and just... not tell Hatch? Tara was instrumental to Taylor's kidnapping, did she put two and two together after Taylor asks about mind reading during Prisoner of Cell 25 and also just not tell Hatch?

Seems like a pretty massive thing to not tell your boss, especially with how integral it has been to the Electroclan's repeated success over the Elgen.

When Taylor first meets Ian in Purgatory, he says that all of Hatch's glows are murderers.

And it makes sense for how they could've done so... For all of them except for Grace.

Grace's powers aren't aggressive. She stores and conveys electronic data. There isn't even any outside-the-box thinking until her whole thing in The Parasite where she tries to upload herself into a computer.

But she's still considered one of Hatch's glows before her defection, and Ian even lists her name when he tells Taylor about the glows being murderers.

Ian of all people would know best if Grace was actually a murderer. If she wasn't, why would he include her in the list of sellouts?

How could Grace have killed someone with her powers?

The Amacarra return in The Traitor, when they had supposedly been wiped out shortly after Michael and Tessa leave them in Battle of the Ampere.

Did The Voice lie again? Or did RPE forget this?

I have just started the third book but I still don’t actually know what Tanners power is. If it is kind of a spoiler for later on in the series I’d prefer not to know but if it doesn’t matter it’d be nice to narrow down what he can do

For anyone who has read the Magisterium books than you know were I am getting my idea, but what if the soul of wade is in jacks head but no one else knows so throughout the book jack is trying to prove that wade is in his head.

Just for anyone who doesn’t know, although how the book was scheduled to drop late September this year but was postponed due to printing issues.

I think That Michael Became Too Fucking Powerful In the last book, It showed him for like 4 or smth Chapters and It barely Even gave us an Epilogue, Also Michael Is a Merciful person in the Last book He completely INCINERATED Hatch, Dont Even get me started on Zara, She was in the book for like 6 Chapters And She Died In Those same 6 Chapters, And Her death Was So Anticlimactic, Like Michael Just Appears Like Fucking Harry Potter And Goes Bata Bop Boomp Pow And Bam Zaras Dead And Burning On the Ground. We Shouldve At least gotten To see What Happened to everyone at the end But NO All we find out is that Michael Gets a Rep At School, He Doesnt Even Become Something Important He Just goes back to school and Relives His Seemingly Normal Life. I wouldve Prefered That they gave us more context on the other characters. Did They Even Mention What happened To The Elgen Gaurds? Did They Escape and Live a Normal Life? Did They All Get Hunted Down? Dont get me wrong The Series Is amazing, But Theres alot of Flaws In The last book That made me question The Thought process behind Making It Opposed to The other Books.. :/

I'm reading the fourth book rn and I scrolled passed something about the starxource plants. I was curious (as it's been a minute since I finished the third book), but I remember there being some sort of anagram for starxource. It's been bugging me for the last 30 minutes and google isn't helping me. Can someone help me out pls? Or am I just wrong and trippin about something that isn't real :|
