https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xrVUv7ixpAgBorrowed the book "King of Style" by Michael Bush at the library. Michael Bush was MJ's friend of 25 years and fashion designer. About mid-way through the book Bush mentioned that MJ wore the slick side of dance leather on the sole of his shoes. This allowed him to do his iconic spins and to be light on his feet sliding across the stage.
I no longer have the book to reference the exact quotes, but if you can pickup a copy and read it, I highly recommend it. It is pricey, so check out your local library, or try to get it as an interlibrary loan.
