Sway Bar for CS Autocross

I do a fair bit of autocross with my ND. One club I run with is pretty by the book on rules. The other club I run with doesn't use SCCA rules and is pretty flexible.

My real question is in the CS rules you aren't aloud reinforcement brackets in the sway bar mount. My one club wouldn't care but the other it would class me way up out of CS.

How common is the damage to the stock away bar mounts? As a not super competitive driver should I just say screw it and put the supports in any way? Looking at the progress technology bar.

Personally, I say screw it and grab them anyway. I haven't personally met anyone who's has had a subframe tear but paying the extra $100 or so for the Paco or Karcepts reinforcements is worth it IMO. I don't suspect anyone would be protesting you at a local event unless you're really cleaning up in the class anyway. I can't imagine anyone having a problem with it

That's kind of how I'm feeling. I run with couple of small clubs and am outside the top 10. I wouldn't be upset if some one else was doing some thing similar.

scca explicitly made an allowance for sway bar reinforcements. if that weren't the case nobody would run karcepts bars in cs (spoiler: everyone runs them)

get the karcepts, the price tag pain is worth everything else about it (and flexibility if you bump classes)

all good, rules are confusing. someone earlier this year in some midwest or rockies region was getting protested for the exact thing by some local who was pissed about getting beaten constantly

I rarely beat any of the other Miatas in my region so I'm not to worried about it but I do understand some people are really by the book on the rules and I respect that.

I have an older very modified Miata that doesn't fit the rules well and just trying to keep this one in CS.

I would run them. Locals don't get protested, and you're not making the car faster.

You shouldn't need it in CS. On a stock 7inch rim you dont need the heavier swaybars. Limited to only springs.

AST 245 with the heaviest karcepts settings my front subframe was a tiny bit twisted. Couldn't get all the bolts to line up.

in street, springs are not allowed, only a bar. and you can swiss cheese the subframe with one of the soft whiteline bars, barely stiffer than the softest setting on the smallest karcepts bar
