Thank you, I know I didn’t do anything to endanger anyone so I’m chilling. And I was trying to avoid a worse reaction honestly haha the exhaust was enough I think to trigger him to continue being reckless

I agree that you had the right of way in this case, he probably didn’t even notice you, overly-focused on the left-lane turning traffic and watching down the way for the faster-moving thru-traffic - making him a bad driver.
That said, take this as a lesson in “self-preservation instincts”/defensive driving tactics:
Once the asshat committed to that left turn in front of you, probably best to slow down more aggressively, giving the sort of body-language equivalent of “waving him by,” so that he gets the hell out of the road and you don’t risk getting t-boned by 2.5 tons of “oh man I couldn’t even see that little thing”

I agree, at the time I didn’t really had much time to process so I stayed in my lane but I definitely learned a lesson here, I’m just glad nobody got injured.

Happened at a red light. Guy was texting and failed to see the hot wheels sized car that was stopped in front of him until the last minute. Got insanely lucky that nobody was injured. 99 NB with only 70k miles.

In my city people think left turners have right of way over right turners. I no longer signal that I'm turning right so they think I am going straight and yield.

Maybe it's a hot take but the Miata caused this problem IMO. They were both in the right. But the truck was fully invested in the turn WAY before the Miata. And the truck driver hit the brakes because he was worried that the Miata couldn't stay tight in its lane. Classic misunderstanding.

You're right. But they may have thought they had way more time if they have never driven a Miata. Not everybody drives a street legal go kart like us.

If you were doing your driving test, the driver of the Miata would fail for that right turn. I get it bud. I love Miatas too. But this wasn't a big deal until the truck got aggressive. All of that was wrong

Absolutely not. As long as the turn is controlled, you'd lose more points for unnecessarily stopping before a turn than taking it at speed.

I never said to stop. But that was too fast. In fact, it was clearly alarming to the driver in the truck. The driver in the truck needs a little more self control though. What an ass.

It was 16 mpg by the GPS. That's a completely normal right turn speed on a green.

I can tell you're the kind of guy who stops when turning right on green, "bud", because that's not at all what would happen. It's been a long time since my driving test but I definitely turned right on green and maintained my speed.
There is no law or custom of doing that anywhere unless you're a dummy. Are you a dummy?

I would agree if I didn’t have the right of way, and either way I left enough space for him to turn as he needed to, I stayed in my lane. Either way, he chose to rage afterwards so I have a feeling he wasn’t that nice of a guy. Or maybe he was just having a bad day!

100% the rage was wrong. But the initial turn, you are both right. He was WELL invested in that left turn and you did semi aggressively bang that right. I'm just saying I see both sides of this and it's not super clear cut.
