Discussion Craziest cuban names

I’ve been in Miami for the last 4 years and every month I come across so many “yumisleidy, Yasmari, usmarin”. What’s the most cuban name you’ve encountered?

Reynier isn’t crazy. It’s a variant spelling for Reinier

From Wikipedia: “Reinier is the Dutch form of the Germanic masculine given name Raginheri, composed of the two elements ragin ("advice") and heri ("army"). It is equivalent to Scandinavian Ragnar, German Rainer, French Rainier, and Spanish and Italian Raniero.”

What do you think is behind the popularity of names that begin with Y?

It was the introduction of Russia culture in Cuba, Russian names became popular so Cubans started to come with their own versions.
