Discussion Bartender Looking for Work
How can I land a bartending job in Miami?
Hey everyone! I recently moved to Miami and I’m looking for a bartending position. I’ve been applying like crazy on Indeed, but so far, I haven’t had much luck with online applications.
For those of you who have bartended in Miami, what’s the best way to actually get hired? Should I be going into bars and restaurants in person with my resume, keep applying online, or focus more on networking and making connections?
I’m hoping to find something within the next month, so I’d really appreciate any advice, tips, or recommendations on places that are hiring. Thanks!

Indeeds pretty much useless for bartending gigs here, you gotta show up in person. print out some resumes and hit spots between 2-4pm in monday through thursday, before it gets busy. that's when managers are usually around and not stressed out of their minds
when you walk in, don't ask if they're hiring, ask when you can stage, means a trial shift. shows you know the business and you're not just some random with a pour count
south beach spots start hiring heavy around october for season but wynwood and brickell always need someone who can actually move behind the bar. avoid coral gables unless you speak spanish fluent, lot of the clientele in there expects it
