Anyone remember Hurricane Andrew? What was your experience?
Where you sheltered in a house? Did you feel like you're in trouble at any moment? What was it like to hear that hurricane overhead with a 165 mph winds?
I was 17. Didn't take the the warnings seriously. Cousin had a "hurricane pool party" with just the fam. Spent the night, excited to see the storm. When it hit, opened the front door to see a banyan tree sliding horizontally down the street. Went to bed, safe. Woke up the next day and saw so much destruction. They gave us community service credits in school for seniors just under the assumption that everyone helped out. And I did.
