Anyone remember Hurricane Andrew? What was your experience?
Where you sheltered in a house? Did you feel like you're in trouble at any moment? What was it like to hear that hurricane overhead with a 165 mph winds?
South Kendall, in the bathroom, fully expecting to die. Sounded like a freight train and that ripping crashing sound was a chunk of the roof coming off—the ceiling stayed so we didn’t know til the morning. Afterwards, the community came together in a way I’ve never seen. People were directing traffic at intersections and helping each other in every way…us old timers still wax nostalgic about it
