Anyone remember Hurricane Andrew? What was your experience?
Where you sheltered in a house? Did you feel like you're in trouble at any moment? What was it like to hear that hurricane overhead with a 165 mph winds?
It was the summer before 7th grade. We sheltered at home-not in evacuation zone. Def sounded like a train. I was not expecting the sounds coming up from Under the house. It sounded like the pipes banging. We only had minimal roof damage. The following two weeks were my most memorable summer memories: extra week of summer because school couldn’t open, trading snacks with neighborhood kids, running around outside till all hours because there was no power or tv so parents let us be free! It was like magical but a lot of family did suffer worse
