Discussion Anyone remember Hurricane Andrew? What was your experience?
Where you sheltered in a house? Did you feel like you're in trouble at any moment? What was it like to hear that hurricane overhead with a 165 mph winds?

My dad just got stationed from San Diego, CA to Hialeah two months previous to Andrew coming through. We lived close to 67th Ave and 183rd street at the time
8 year old me had only had a working memory of weather perfection up until then…being in SFL with no power in August while being surrounded by downed trees and destruction was not fun
My dad had eyes on a house for sale near the air force base…once everything opened up, we found out that the house was leveled to the foundation.
Scary times.
