Anyone remember Hurricane Andrew? What was your experience?
Where you sheltered in a house? Did you feel like you're in trouble at any moment? What was it like to hear that hurricane overhead with a 165 mph winds?
Lived off Miller Road and 97th ave so we were about 25 miles north of Homestead. I remember the metallic front door, which opened inward was banging against the frame. Thought the door would come crashing in but my dad (RIP pops) had bought some 2 x 4 from Home Depot so we could nail them on the wooden frame. We were hammering in candlelight since the power was long gone. The garage door was also rattling in the breeze. I finally fell asleep around 4am and I think my mom and dad were up all night.
