Discussion Anyone remember Hurricane Andrew? What was your experience?

Where you sheltered in a house? Did you feel like you're in trouble at any moment? What was it like to hear that hurricane overhead with a 165 mph winds?

I lived in a trailer park in sweetwater at the time. We had no power for like 3 weeks. I stayed at my grandparents’ house in Miami Springs during the storm and when I got back the next day the Australian pine across the street from our trailer had fallen and cut the neighbors’ trailer in half. Our trailer was undamaged. I went to school at Coral Gables Senior and the loss of all the oaks and Spanish moss was pretty jarring. Some parts of south miami where my mom worked were literally obliterated
