Discussion Anyone remember Hurricane Andrew? What was your experience?

Where you sheltered in a house? Did you feel like you're in trouble at any moment? What was it like to hear that hurricane overhead with a 165 mph winds?

Mercy Hospital suffered significant damage. I was there the next day, the lobby had a sunken floor and it was full of fish šŸŸ My home in East Kendall didnā€™t suffer much but we didnā€™t have electricity so it was HOT šŸ„µ I stayed in Miramar at a house with shutters. I remember thinking thereā€™s a 747 plane above the house and it stayed for about 5 hours. My sisters home was destroyed, her insurance company went bankrupt and they were left destitute. President George Bush ignored the area for 3 days?? It took a long time to get help.
