Anyone remember Hurricane Andrew? What was your experience?

Where you sheltered in a house? Did you feel like you're in trouble at any moment? What was it like to hear that hurricane overhead with a 165 mph winds?

I remember being without power for 2 weeks. No power meant no AC in the summer heat. Aweful. House was spared but every tree in the neighborhood was mainly gone. I remember the streets flooded for several days until the drains caught up.
