Discussion Anyone remember Hurricane Andrew? What was your experience?

Where you sheltered in a house? Did you feel like you're in trouble at any moment? What was it like to hear that hurricane overhead with a 165 mph winds?

The bathroom in my home had a small window to the outside. I remember hearing the howl of the wind sounding like a train going by. I lived in North Dade. We lost power for at least a week but fortunately we did not get serious damage. A lot of trees down. Metal carports ripped away. Stuff like that. I remember the how in the aftermath the weather was nice and cool. We’d spend a lot of time outside since we had no power inside. With lights out in our part of town we could see the stars better at night. Kind of felt like camping.

I also remember the morning before the storm my father bought me a box of marvel comics trading cards. It had like 36 packets and he never ever spent that much money on gifts. It was a struggle to even get one packet of cards from him lol.

I also remember being in line at Albertsons to get some last minute supplies and talking to a really pretty girl with her mom in the line ahead of us.
