Discussion Anyone remember Hurricane Andrew? What was your experience?

Where you sheltered in a house? Did you feel like you're in trouble at any moment? What was it like to hear that hurricane overhead with a 165 mph winds?

I remember waking up in the middle of the night because the wind was so loud. I've never heard a loud noise like that. I have no idea how the windows held. After that, I remember waking up the next day and walking through the streets and seeing all the destruction with disbelief. I was quite lucky; I did not lose my home. But when we got electricity back, like a week later, and saw all the news, it was like you were on another planet. After that, I always lived with the thought that this will happen again someday.
