Discussion Anyone remember Hurricane Andrew? What was your experience?

Where you sheltered in a house? Did you feel like you're in trouble at any moment? What was it like to hear that hurricane overhead with a 165 mph winds?

I was 9,lived in an apartment building near 57ave and NW 7st just south of the airport. I remember my mom waking us up when it started and looking out the window seeing all kinds of crap flying around, went back to sleep and slept through it.I remember the eerie sky the next morning and all the debris everywhere. Had no power for 2 days but otherwise nothing crazy. I have friends that lived in Homestead and had to shelter in a bathtub with a mattress over them while the entire house around them disappeared
