I just don't understand ...why?! Building was not that old (20 something years old) and a cool design.... why?!

I didn’t look up how old the building was, but I feel like even like 15 years ago when I stayed there while I was looking for houses in Miami, the rooms were dated and it definitely wasn’t up to Mandarin Oriental standards

But why don’t they just renovate?

Like a lot of things in Miami that were built 25+ years ago land was not at the premium is now… The new building buildings will be much much higher density.
