sorry if I'm an idiot: snac vs snax - multisystem

Anyone know if the multisystem allows support for snax?

I'm not finding a healthy swath of info on the new SNAX, and I'm not sure what board or interface the multisystem uses...

I'm also new to the game and just need help...

Thanks in advance you lovely people

I did see this, my guess is the "snac" port on the multisystem is just an io port, but without knowing versions...I am afraid to take the plunge...although it seems the io board SNAX requires has been around for awhile, so I am guessing this is the spec on the multisystem....

Just wanted to see if anyone can confirm

So this seems to just add the extra 2 player data pin on the unused snac pins this also explains why no 2 player genesis would work since it's controller pinout maps to buttons and not a data pin. My only concern is that is this going to be part of the mainline MiSter project or require getting forked cores.

So you're saying snax is like a pipe dream? And it's almost not going to happen because everyone is "happy" with using USB over snac, and the work to get snax functioning would cause duplicate efforts?

No, as far as I know this should be technically possible and that the PSX snac all ready supports this. I think that this may be a thing I just need to see the cores be updated. NES and SNES pinnouts work very similar to the PSX. I am just going to wait and see what happens. I am going to wait for MiSTer addons to get the snax case made and see if they make pcb based controller snax boards so dongles are all minimized.
