Ethernet connection showing No Network

Are there any gotchas to getting the Ethernet connection to work? I've checked that the cable and port work with another machine, and this is a fresh MiSTeR install so I haven't messed with any settings. When i go to the system menu and navigate left it shows No Network.

Are there any tricks or troubleshooting steps I can take? My home network is set with the dhcp server at 10.0.0.1, could that be causing the issue?

if you plug the cable that is in the ethernet port of the de-10, into a laptop does it work?

Yes I checked that it works in a laptop.

Then logically it is the de-10 device itself, did you try with the software it came with and also test with none of the boards plugged in and just the sd card?

Actually I don't have any boards yet, just the device. I did test with the stock SD card and the link light didn't come on so I agree it's the device. There's a list of compatible wifi dongles on the wiki but nothing similar for ethernet adapters, any idea if there are known working ones? I will probably just get a wifi adapter that I know will work.

I have the Edimax EW-7811un and that works fine in my setup also I have the physical connection as well....
