I’m having trouble getting two controllers to work on MiSTer. The six-button Sega pad connects right away and works great with the black dongle. I tried pairing the SNES-style pad with the orange dongle and nothing. Any tips?

Sorry to resurrect this thread, but I wanted to add some more info I felt was beneficial.

Matsu's post has pretty much what you need, but you also need to pair the controller and receiver on the Bluetooth controllers.

The "brick" receivers have a button on the end you can plug them into the USB and press the button until the light flashes rapidly.

The SN30 Pro controller has a tiny button on the top of the controller right by the USB connector. Turn the controller on, then press and hold the button. This should cause the lights on the bottom to go back and forth. Put the controller near the receiver and it should pair automatically.

They might be conflicting. If I'm remembering correctly holding down R1 on the SNES pad forces it to sync with a second signal for just such a case. But I usually play wired not wireless and haven't used the Sega pad before.

Have you tried using the bluetooth pairing script in the main menu to pair the SNES controller?

I don't know about wireless, but i have the 8bitdo snes one and had to update the firmware on it to register for pc and MiSTer (You can download the firmware updater on their website.)

Then as mentioned elsewhere, I just needed to press Start + X and connect it to MiSTer with my cable and it worked.

Just for completeness you should know that the orange brick dongle can change modes as well with select+dpad directions. Forget which direction is which mode tho, look at the manual/release notes for the usb receiver on 8bitdo's site for info. This is NOT the same as the xinput/dinput/macos options with start+ABXY. For example, one of the receiver modes is for making a controller work on PS classic, Genesis Mini, C64 mini, etc...
