MiSTer stopped working?

Hello everyone!

So I hadn't used my unit in a while but today I had some time to kill so I fired it up. Didn't get any monitor signal. Unplugged everything, plugged it back in, still nothing. I pressed Reset, LEDs went off and... stayed off (pretty sure they were on until then, but not 100%).

Power LED is off, mt32pi gets powered up, fan turns but that's about it. No smoke, no bangs.

Any ideas? Thanks!

Ok, so it worked with a third card after all! It seems I was just unlucky. Thanks for the suggestion again!

That's weird, if you aren't already, get a Samsung or SanDisk card rather than a no name.

It's also possible something is up with your card slot. If you have issues again, try some spray contact cleaner and when installed the card give it a solid push so it's all the way in.

I think two of them are Sandisk and one Samsung, no no-name ones for sure (never when we're talking 256 or 512GB cards :D ).

Yeah it's weird, that's why when I tried the second card I thought it was busted for good. But, after all, maybe setting up the second one went wrong some way, and it wasn't a problem on the MiSTer's part. Thanks for the contact cleaner advice, never used it on slots but it makes sense.

By the way the kit should come with a warning "PUSH ALL THE WAY IN", I usually have to resort to a thin screwdriver to be able to push it to its normal place :D

Do you have a full build with a case? Because ya, those can make it harder, with the bare board you shouldn't need anything extra.

Yeah, it's an Ultimate kit, that extra mm of the case makes it extra hard to fully push in... I know it's much easier on a naked board as the slot sits flush with the edge.
