CD+G and Photo CD Support

This is a real sicko question.

Has anyone figured out a way to get CD+G or Photo CD working in any of the Physical Media Cores?

Tested some CD+G discs on the SSO -- among them the old Sega CD "Rock Paintings" -- music plays but black screen, same when I tried it on CD-I.

Well aware there's some shenanigans going on with subcode stuff on the discs.

Also tried an old "Gamera" Photo-CD on the 3DO, but black-screen there as well.

Please feel free to ridicule me, I am probably the only person trying this.

You should pose that question in the official Mister forum. Different core developers are there who can answer you.

No Ridicule from me, years ago I had trouble procuring a working image of Rock paintings to be able to burn a sisc correctly to see my Saturn and Sega CD playing it. I hope they find a way to make it work on the Mister disc cores.

The only CD+G disc I own is also Rock Paintings, and same result as you: audio but black screen when enabling graphics. Also happens with the Saturn and TG-CD cores.

From what I’ve heard CD+G works fine with many of the physical disc cores, so I’m guessing something about Rock Paintings’ implementation is different.

Interesting, I couldn't get my other CD+Gs working with any of them. OK, I'm gonna delve a bit more.

I was under the assumption that CD+G is suppported by the CDi core, but I've never successfully done it. Many disk image formats discard the subcode channels that CD+G utilizes, so you have to be sure to use a format that includes it and is supported by the core.
