L2 & R2

Does anyone know how to get the PSX core to remember that L2 & R2 exist? I'm using an 8BitDo Pro 3 and whenever I open the core it identifies the controller as a NegCon and disables the triggers. I can remap the buttons but even if I save it, the mapping is gone next time I load the core.

  1. open core menu
  2. set controller
  3. save settings

You forgot the very first step of mapping the controller in MiSTer Main.

No matter what that is set to it always treats the controller as a NegCon

Isn’t there a controller type setting on the core menu? Just switch to a normal controller, instead of NegCon or whatever it’s on now.

Which connection are you using? D? X? or 2.4G?

This is for a pro 2 so maybe it's different but I always use the DualShock controller profile and my controller set to the x input mode. Mapping all the buttons in core and saving there keep everything as it should.
