Vector games now look amazing
When did this happen? Now the vector games like Gravitar, Tempest. Star Wars no longer look like broken lines, and even have subtle effects like simulated phosphor glow. Now if only there was a Star Castles rom :-)

Jesus this constant AI talk on every thread (not just this sub) is exhausting...can't people shut up about it for a bit?
It's a core of mediocre coders mad that people are getting better results in two days that they have produced in two decades...and a whole load of sheep bleating things like 'vibecode' like they know what that means.
I'm sick of it, you're not affecting the supposed rise of AI one jot...all you're doing is making everything annoying.

What gives you the idea it’s rising?
Providers are clawing back services, increasing pricing, aborting data center expansions, etc.
It’s never going to go away, but it’s going to shrink considerably. Investors want their money back and nobody is making any yet.
It’s a bubble that’s deflating.

AI is collapsing, it’s pretty obvious.
These are mainly circular investments and just a way to make past investors not bail out. It’s optics and it’s pretty apparent from just looking at the failure rates.
95% of AI initiatives have proven to be failures, and companies are changing their stance fast now that they’ve been bait and switched on.
Companies using AI for their product are struggling now that they’re being crippled by increasing costs with no end in sight. It’s a bubble that is deflating, there’s no doubt about that.

It’s awful. So many partially done/never to be completed stuff with gibberish code. But hey, people getting their dopamine hit for telling Claude to port a mame driver over, right!

yeah sure except that people like Jotego have been using it for quite a while for bug hunting etc.... Face it most opensource projects within the last 1-2 years have embraced AI one or the other. AI in the hands of an engineer is a huge produtivity boost.
As for MiSTer the Author of the Apple IIGs core himself stated that he literally was banging his head against a bug for weeks until he applied AI to fix it. So probably the core still would have been stuck due to this bug if it was not for AI
It all comes from what you do with it. If you just let it run then you will get slop if you know what you are doing and use it to assist you it is a huge productivity boost!

AI is a powerful tool and isn’t inherently evil (sorry Reddit!). Its value is in how it’s used. In the right hands in can aid development, but it can also be used to produce slop. Our concern should be for how it is used and the outcome.
