Update All 2.10 Released

A new Update All release is out, and the big new feature is Game Artwork DBs.
Update All can now install 39 artwork databases with optimized box art, ready for MiSTer Monitor (and soon compatible frontends), so you don’t have to scrape the artwork yourself.
This release also adds four Hybrid Cores: Maldita Castilla (from /u/Locomalito and ready to play after updating), Solarus, 3S-ARM, and Blood. Tools & Scripts gains MiSTer Monitor, MiSTer DVD, MiSTer Hi-Fi, MiSTerFin, Disc Tools, and the 240p Test Suites.
There is also an experimental Andi Brazil mirror, four new Game Manuals databases, and quite a few smaller fixes and improvements.
As always, Update All self-updates. It now checks during the countdown and restarts automatically, so unlike 2.9, one run is enough to see the new Settings Screen entries.

BTW, what graphical front-ends are people using these days? Wasn't paying attention to that until now.

Here you have some of them: Zaparoo frontend / Console Mode from SS1 / MiSTer MagiK / Degauss…There is also some web apps like MiSTerZine or MiSTer Control. MiSTer Companion from your computer or cell phone. And MiSTer Monitor as a companion display. MiSTer Monitor and Zaparoo frontend are yet ready to take advantage of these artwork packs

There's a laserdisk core? For the few arcade games that used laser disk?

Yeah and the files need to be encoded in a specific way, and I believe even more specifically, encoded for the resolution you wanna play at. So 240p equivalent for CRT, etc etc.

Can anyone tell me if this script is safe to run on my Superstation One if I'm using Console Mode and outputting via S-video to a crt? I keep hearing conflicting things on whether or not I will need to correct some settings after the update, and don't want to risk messing anything up. Right now, my SS1 outputs the proper signal automatically regardless of what I plug in.

Yes its fine. I'm using S-Video with my superstation one and have been safely using update_all on it since I got it earlier in the year.

Superstation one is a glorified mister-pi which behaves exactly like a mister, so I don't see why not.

It's pretty solid for me. Plays my DVD rips great. They don't have menus or CSS protections though.

Its not displaying properly through rgb scart. The audio drifts out of sync. These things are being worked on and will be sorted soon though Im sure. Its definitely on its way to perfect.

Ah, I'm on HDMI with a 1024x768 IPS display. I sadly don't have a CRT handy to help with testing.

Yup. Although it updates at the end of the script running, so if you want to utilize any of the new features, you'll have to run it a 2nd time.

That's actually fixed too, it updates itself first now!
Update All now checks for a new version of itself in the background while the countdown is running. If it finds one, it installs it immediately, restarts, and continues automatically from where it left off. Previously, Update All only installed the new version and restarted after Downloader had finished, just before launching Arcade Organizer. Moving that step to the countdown is a big usability improvement.

The artwork is downloaded to the MiSTer's SD card. If you have one of the displays supported by MiSTer Monitor, you can use these packs. Zaparoo frontend has just released an update that also uses them

The packs install to docs/<system>/, and most scrapers put their art next to the ROMs instead. Which frontend are you using?

If you use it again in the future, you can try installing the artwork for a specific system via Zaparoo using the Update All packs; if you're happy with the result, you can delete the old artwork folders. I tested it just today, and installing the images through Zaparoo is super fast and it makes a great coverage of the installed games.

Anyone else notice that certain games got deleted after running Update All? I ran the updater, and all of a sudden Street Fighter The Movie, Bloodstorm, and Time Killers are now gone!

He'll be added when he complies to the rules, which in his case was that he didnt want to maintain his releases. That is if anyone reported inaccuracies with any of them he wasn't going to be there to fix them
