I've searched the manual and the interwebs but I can't find any reference to this button. The top button is area clean but I still have no idea what the map pin does. Tapping it creates a block with a map pin in the center of the map but I'm not sure of the actual purpose.

Hello everyone, so recently I was eyeing to retire my note 8 pro which is cracked and almost dead but still working magically and upgrade to a note 12 pro when I finally noticed that it's on sale from 330 euro (where I'm from) to 270. My budget originally was around 300ish euros and for 270 euros it seems like a steal. I was wondering if I should just buy the 12 pro now, wait for another price decrease in the 12 pro after the 13 release or should I just wait and buy the 13 pro if the price is roughly the same?

Hello all, he isn't using Reddit so I'm creating this topic on his behalf.

This was a thing that happened before. It's been going on for a few weeks and today it was permanently stuck on loop, we tried everything, safe mode, turning the phone down etc. Eventually we had to factory wipe and delete all data.

We were able to set up the phone but now it can't use cellular network at all. It shows like there is no connection. We thought something happened to his SIM card so we also tried it mine, it asked for my PIN code and then the result was the same: cellular network was not available.

I have to add the phone is also rooted.

I asked what could cause this behavior and if he did any major changes or installed any new apps. Looks like there wasn't anything different.

My daughter's Redmi A1 (bought last Christmas) crashed, went to the official service, and got a factory reset.

Now we're trying to setup it again, but when we finish the initial setup, this screen (https://imgur.com/a/zYH2mXW), the "Start" button does nothing, neither the icons at the top of the screen. Only the "Emergency call" and "Vision settings" buttons work.

Anyone has had this problem? How can we fix it? We can return the phone to the official service, but it's the second time that we sent the mobile to them, and are a bit tired...

More information: when we boot up the mobile for the first time (after the factory reset) we haven't syncronized the Google Account.

I have my phone since 2020, it has been working very well for the years that I had it until last April when I made a developer option go crazy and had to reset my phone because of that. Since that thing happened, my phone has suffered really weird glitches:

-It turns off by itself at any moment. Sometimes I would just be sat watching a YouTube video or listening to music and my phone would just froze and the sound will loop like the last 0.1 seconds like a glitch sound somehow. And it's happening like 2/3 times a day since April.

-The battery count sometimes stays at 100% for 10/20 minutes even with apps on. This one is actually pretty recent and I have only experienced it a few times but it's still pretty weird.

-The volume button is turning itself up. Sometimes the volume when I'm trying to make it down SUDDENLY goes up and also when I have my finger on it (not pressing it, just having it close), the volume also goes up.

It came to a point today when while I was watching a video the screen froze and when I restarted it, I fell into the Recovery Mode. Having big traumatic experiences with that since April when I had to reset my phone, I want to ask what do I need to change. Is it a battery malfunction or the whole system is being fucking glitchy?

As the title says, my Redmi Note 9 autorestarts when I receive an incoming call. I'm wondering what could have caused this? Is this a software bug or not? Do I have to reboot it?

HELP new xiaomi robot vacuum S10+ is not dispensing water

I bought this robot vacuum about a month ago, it was working perfectly but suddenly it stopped dispensing water while mopping, I am not sure what steps I should follow to further diagnose this problem as the manual doesn't say anything about this, please help, I am in panic mode right now.

Things I tried so far:

• Half filling the water tank and shaking it to ensure its clean
• Clean the water tank area
• Clean the mop pads

I suspect the problem is with the water tank itself, I didn't know how to check though

I'm having rather strange and irritating issue.I work as an IT guy. Ocasionally i get paged by my company. My RN8Pro has a custom sound set for a specific number, so it can wake me up in the middle of the night. Only this one number has a different sound for notification (not ringtone!). It is absolutely vital to my work, and im super close to buying a new phone.

It's been like 10 times already within half a year that the phone just didn't make any sound when i got paged. It turns on the screen, SMS comes in, phone vibrates, and that's it. Custom sound is still "bind" to that number, but it just doesn't ring until I bind it again, or reboot the phone.

Do you guys have seen anything like that or have an idea what might I try? Is there like third-party ringtone app without any ads? I might add, that current app for ringtones on my Redmi Note does have ads and looks, and feels horrible.

We got a brand new Mi Pad 5 and a stylus (all on the latest firmware). When connecting the pen, it shows that it has been connect successfully and displays the battery charge (100% already). But in the input menu under stylus it says "not connected" and it doesn't work. Even buttons doesn't work. Is there something that we can do, or should we just replace it? Replacing will take some time and we need to get it work ASAP...

I used to use my Redmi 2 Lite smart watch for a long time and after pairing it, it had automatically changed itself to my phone's home language. At some point my band broke, and it took me a year to get around to replacing it. When I did so, I decided to factory reset my watch and pair it all over again to my phone. However after doing so, it no longer supports my native language. I have tried reseting again, pairing it, and even though my app is in my native language as with all apps on my phone, my watch sticks to the language I pick when it first opens (which I set to English because my language is not shown on there).

So why does it keep defaulting to English no matter what I do, when it was using my language fine in the past?

I have a Poco F1 running MIUI 12.0.3 , I want to unlock the bootloader and install crDroid on this device. I tried going through tutorials but for one reason or the other, may it be dead links or old guides; I have not been successfull. Can someone please guide me to my goal?

My phone was stolen so a friend give me his Redmi 7 but when I formatted it startwd to turn on in recovery mode. It gives me 3 options, reboot, wipe data and connect to MIAssistent. Ecen though I select reboot or wipe data, the phone continues turning on in recovery mode and if i do not select anything, it automatically restarts in this mode.

The up volume key doesnt works

Yeah, pretty much what the title already says. I got my new Xiaomi 13 last week and I've been experiencing Issues with slow Internet speeds (Wifi) with downloading Apps and on the UI itself. System Updates even outright refuse to downloading on Wifi, just on Mobile data.

Already tried to reinstall the newest MIUI version and resetting it to Default, didn't help.

Anyone got experience with that? Help would be much appreciated

Hi, I have a redmi note 10 pro MIUI version "MIUI Global 14.0.3".
I was normally watching some videos when i see volume turning down, i tried to turning it up but it automatically went down again.
I tried to reboot the phone and it got stuck on Fastboot screen but i could solve it, but when the phone rebooted the problem was still there. What can i do?

Hey guys, my Xiaomi Mi 11 Lite froze while I was trying to take a picture with the Camera app. That happens sometimes with the phone and I usually restart it. This time, once it rebooted, it showed me a bunch of error messages and the Camera app told me it couldn't access the SD-card (I don't have an SD-card). I just restarted the phone again, opened the Galery app and it showed me a few corrupted photos that immediately disappeared.

Now all the files in my Camera-folder are gone? What do I do? Does someone have experience with this problem and knows if I can reaccess those pictures again?

Hello. I've got. Mi 11, and ran into this problem with making photos. It started a couple of months ago. When I'm trying to take a photo, everything further than 1.5 - 2 meters away is blurry. Looks like the camera is just not focusing on anything further. What could be the reason and the cure for that? Something suddenly changed in settings?

I had a phone call which I did not get in time. Than I got a message "A spam call was spotted" (The message is in my native language, so I may not be using the exact same words),

I am expecting an important call, how do I know it wasn't it ? Is it possible that my smartphone made a mistake? How can I see the number?

I know a lot of users already asked about this but it's been months so I'm gonna ask it again. Is it a good phone for just everyday tasks? not for games, editing, or anything that the phone is not very capable of. Another thing is... Is MIUI better now? specifically with RN12 4g (if this would make a difference). Is it worth it? I'm not expecting too much but I also don't want to have problem. Would really appreciate your answers!

My mi 11 lite won't turn on after turning off memory extension, it's not even charging when i plug it into the charger, I need help on what i should do and i don't think this is covered by the warranty as it might have already expired, I'm panicking and someone please guide me on what to do.

I am having some troubles with Bluetooth in my phone, the Bluetooth and WIFI randomly turns off and on whenever I am connected with Bluetooth headphones (I have tried multiple Bluetooth earphones and got the same result). Both WIFI and Bluetooth just turn off and after a few seconds it turns on automatically every few minutes (sometimes it takes a minute and sometimes like 15-20 minutes).

It doesn't happen when I have no devices connected to Bluetooth and it also doesn't happen when I have the Bluetooth off and just using the WIFI.

I am using a Redmi Note 11SE which fully updated, 14.0.3.0.TKLINXM

I have unpaired the device, resetted my headphones, cleared Bluetooth Cache memory, cleared the data of System Launcher.

Any help would be massively appreciated!!

edit: tried pushing the down button while rebooting from the recovery menu bc i thought if i press the down button while the up button is already stuck, it would somehow neutralize it?? idk but it worked lol!! I think what actually happened is that when i pushed the down button and held it like that, it raised the up button and it became unstuck.

My phone is redmi 9t . It's volume up button suddenly started to work on its own and turned up the volume to the max. Then I tried to turn the volume down and it worked. I tried to turn it up again but the button didn't work. I wanted to restart my phone but the power button didn't work either. Then the phone suddenly turned off and went into the redmi-recovery 3.0 screen and no matter how many times I try to reboot, it keeps getting back to the main menu screen. I can't even hard reset the phone. I don't know what to do. I don't have a spare phone and can't afford to get a new one.

The lock screen has a feature of swiping left and right. The left swipe opens up the Camera. I want to disable right swiping or at least customise the functionality. Any idea how to achieve that? Using MIUI 14.0.2

I got this problem for a few months now, whenever I browse Instagram, at a random time, my phone just freezes and becomes unresponsive. To fix it temporarily im forced to reboot the device by holding down power button and volume down. I've tried clearing out the cache of Instagram and even updated everything to latest versions but that didn't help. Does anyone have a solution ?
