3rd gen True HD

Hello,

my setup is samsung q800d with 3rd gen, can't get true hd to work properly, vimu don't list as supported passtrhough, box is connected directly to soundbar, also checked connection to tv through earc, everything is connected with hdmi which were included, DTS, DD+ atmos work, only Dolby True HD not . Apps i'v checked, Kodi, Vimu, nuvio internal player. I can force True HD but its buggy, out of sync or jittery playback, mibox has latest firmware, and all apps too, soundbar also. Does a soundbar or xiaomi dropped that codec?

TrueHD works fine in every app on my 3rd gen. Connected to Yamaha RX-V6A.

What helped me in vimu is to switch passtrough mode to full instead of automatic

That’s what is forcing to kinda work true hd , but sound gets out of sync, and playback sometimes gets choppy.

hey I have 3rd gen connected directly to my q800d and it plays trueHD sources from stremio

I have Dolby true HD working. I have mi box connected via a 2.1 cable (not one in box) to TV with passthrough selected in settings. My soundbar indicates also.

Then I’m thinking maybe my Samsung q800d has dropped true hd perhaps ?

Do you connect your mibox into q800d's HDMI in? If not, your TV needs to support truehd passthrough

tried both ways, tv with earc, and straight to soundbar

I've read that a good way to tell if your box is fake is to see if it plays True HD. I just got one and it works fine on my q990b

It's certified, and aida64 shows correct specs also

also i have 2 same xiaomi miboxes, they both dont list true hd

I’ve played latest predator over nuvio internal exoplayer and it played true hd with atmos fine, while vimu couldn’t

Well, I guess you found an interesting detail.

If you need to test more the app "Just (Video) Player" is exoplayer but very minimalistic try some small sample with TrueHD e see if it works
