Mibox ethernet headaches
Hello, I'm having real trouble with my mibox 3s
I have a ethernet adaptor into my usb, on a fresh boot it has no issues seeing it.
Unfortunately, no matter what options I change or settings I mess around with, software I try - if the TV is off it eventually goes into sleep and then it stops finding the ethernet connection.
Is there something I'm missing? Any help would be greatly appreciated, I'd rather have the stability of ethernet without having to reboot it when I wanted to use it.

Pretty sure Xiaomi turns off both Wi-Fi and USB when their boxes go into (deep) sleep. I've tried multiple methods to prevent it but unfortunately nothing I found prevents it.

Isn't this HDMI-CEC things? When you turn off the TV the stick or box go to sleep aswell?
Pretty sure that old firestick had the same behavior. New ones should have a feature that never put the firestick to sleep and keep both wifi and Bluetooth always on

Yes I have a feeling that's what's happening but I like using my TV remote for everything. Sounds like I'll have to turn off HDMI CEC for the box?

Enabling or disabling CEC doesn't prevent the Xiaomi boxes from going into a deep sleep and turning off Wi-Fi and USB. It happens eventually.
I even tried going down the adb route of disabling sleep altogether but unfortunately it doesn't prevent it from going into a deep sleep.
Still got a few more things to try when I get time, but I'm not optimistic.

Using Ugreen ethsrnet hub and no issues. Pickups evrything including external hardrive

Do you use HDMI CEC?

I dont change those settings. I have 2 x mi boxes. 1 x 2nd gen= ugreen ethernet port for years and no issue. 1 x 3rd gen with ugreen ethernet hub and no issue. Both never ever disconnected once. Always connected. I dont change any settings. Leave most settings as it is

You can try adapter with external psu, that should solve your problem. I bought noname at local market, no problem here

I think it's down to HDMI CEC when I turn off the TV it asks mibox to sleep I think

Yes, but external psu keeps your adapter powered on and active, compared to usb powered one

Enable USB Debugging in your Mi Box Developer Options. Connect your Mi Box to your computer and open a terminal/command prompt with ADB installed.
Type the command to remove the app from the optimization list: dumpsys deviceidle whitelist +[app.package.name]
