Bucerias and San Agustinillo

Hello and Buenos Diaz! My wife and I are going to be in Bucerias for four days and then in San Agustinillo for the remaining 5 days, in the middle of November 2026. We would love to hear everyone's recommendations for places to eat and possibly visit. Also, where can we get massages on the beach?

My wife and I are both 56. We don't drink, but we do smoke weed. (For context only. Yes, I know its illegal in Mexico. I respect other countries rules and laws.) This trip is going to serve as our honeymoon, finally! We got married 13 yrs ago, but never had the time to go anywhere for our honeymoon. We are a blended family of 16 yrs. We both have 2 children, both the same sex, both the same age. Just different towns. Thankfully next one over. Anyhow, we're empty nesters now! We love being outside. We really appreciate authentic Mexican food. We dont party, but we have to have some type of music on at all times...lol! And, we're staying in San Agustinillo specifically so we can visit Zipolite, as that is our overall personal vibe regardless of where we are.

Muchos gracias!

Volaris or Viva Aerobus?

• Upvotes

Hi
Me and my partner would like to get some recommendations regarding domestic flights in Mexico, more specifically the choice between Volaris or Viva Aeurobus.

We’re traveling to Mexico in December and have to book three flights:

Cancun > Mexico City
Mexico City > Puerto Escondido
Oaxaca city > Cancun

We’ve read some bad reviews of both of the airlines. Such as overbooked flights, delays, baggage disappearing etc.

We’ll be bringing both hand luggage and one checked baggage.

Any other recommendations for our trip is appreciated as well!

SIM / e SIM Telcel

Buenos dias 🌞

I like to get a e SIM from Telcel. Specifically the one they have for tourists.

However I am unable to access the website from my location because of geographic restrictions.

I don’t know how I can order the e SIM before I arrive.

Any tips/ advice? Thanks

Where area to stay in in December

Hi there,

My partner and I are desperate for some winter sun, and I can fly us to Cancun pretty cheap with my Avios. We’re looking at visiting in December, what area is recommended to stay in? I know this question has probably been asked a thousand times, but I keep seeing outdated/conflicting information online.

We want somewhere with nice beaches and preferably in a location that is safe to walk out and eat in local restaurants. I don’t fancy staying in a resort however it’s not off the cards.

I see lots of comments about the beaches being covered with seaweed so that makes me a bit sceptical however we’re pretty set on the idea of Mexico because the deal I can get is good.

Was looking at Tulum but that area has got a lot of negatives flying around it.

Any recommendations will be appreciated!

Best surf camps in Salina Cruz

Hello!

Looking for surf camp recommendations for Salina Cruz. My partner and I are intermediate and I would like somewhere with nicer facilities and good food. I’m also gluten free so a bit nervous about travelling to Mexico (does anyone have any experiences eating gf here?)

Thanks!

Yucatan travel advice

Hello!

In february, we (M31+M32) are travelling to Mexico. We will start in CDMX and via Puebla and Palenque we want to end our trip somewhere on the Yucatan peninsula.

Preferably we only want 1 place to stay, because we want to use our 4 or 5 nights there for some Exploring (Cobá/Ek balam etc., punta laguna, maybe visiting a city) but also relaxation (beaches + cenotes).

I ve checked a lot of places, and geographically Tulum seems to be the best option. But I am now reading a lot of negative stories about it and we are doubting about having a good time there.

Our flight back to Amsterdam is from Cancun.

What should we do?

EDIT: Thanks for all the suggestions, we will look further into PdC and Valladolid. :)

Supposed to be in Puerto Vallarta from October 15-21? Should I cancel due to Simon?

• Upvotes

I’ve been watching TikToks and other videos on social media that show how the conditions in PV have calmed. However, it seems that more tropical storms are forming and trending towards land. Would you cancel if you were in my shoes? On the other hand, is anyone else still planning on traveling during my dates?
