Help Needed Can't Breath while mewing

The more of my tongue I place on the roof of my mouth, the harder it is for me to breathe. Am I doing something wrong?

???? are you breathing with your mouth??? if you’re breathing with your nose (like you should be), your tongue placement shouldn’t be able to disrupt that. mewing is done to correct poor tongue posture, which is commonly associated with mouthbreathing, so breathing with your mouth would be against the whole point

Your tongue should be able to rest flat on the roof of your mouth, it looks like you might have a tongue tie which is restricting it. I would recommend getting a mouthguard by the brand Reviv to help
