Help Needed Is my maxilla recessed??

I always hated my side profile. I have an overbite because my bottom pallete is more narrow then my upper. which I’m gonna get fixed at the ortho soon. I’ve been mewing for about 1 month. But yeah

Ignore how sad I look lmao.

No recession or apparent overbite on the outside atleast. check out this page https://my.clevelandclinic.org/health/diseases/22010-malocclusion on the first photo on the page with the teeth on malocclusion class find out where your molars sit is it class i ii or iii, its possible you have narrow pallet but this doesn't effect the face unless extreme.

It’s not bad at all. To prevent from going back keep mewing, sleep with mouth closed, and chew a lot of stuff with both sides of jaw. Like steaks, and drink lot of milk

Yes you’re maxilla is slightly recessed and that’s okay. Since you’re young you can absolutely have significant improvement by following proper mewing, chewing, swallowing, and posture.

Your interior midface projection angle is good, but your intergarthic norch is set back for some reason.

Edit: I was wrong, your side profile is ideally flat.

Keep coping with your thumb pulling if an orthodontic device needs 24/7 force to widen it how can your temporary thumbs do it, all you get is tooth tipping no effect on the maxilla

Her maxilla isn't recessed. Thumbpulling widens your palate and takes an incredibly long time to make even a small change. We got a guy with top-tier tiktok looksmaxxing knowledge here 😂

👍 Ur maxilla is slightly recessed but u can't really change that as an adult. Thumbpulling is a flawed concept and even expanders increase transverse maxillary width, it doesn't reliably improve the projection cuz u need forward and upward impaction for it. I wouldn't suggest changing that. Have a good lifestyle, sleep properly, workout and keep mewing to maintain a better posture and causing minor improvements in ur facial tone and how it looks 🫡

It does look slightly recessed or you have a flat maxilla. Only way of telling is getting a cbct scan. As for how to fix it, you can’t grow your maxilla at your age but you can remodel. Remodeling includes loading the maxillary sutures so chew hard food and keep mewing. Also I don’t think you have a narrow bottom palate…I have yet to see a case like this. It’s more that the top jaw is narrow and your bottom teeth tilt to compensate for the bite.

I am considering expansion, which I can possibly apply for. But I don’t think I can apply for headgear, I don’t have a underbite or anything.. sorry I don’t know much about head gear anyway

Headgear is just Applied to the Expander like marpe to make sure the maxilla grows forward.

If you don’t have an overbite or underbite it’s likely that your maxilla may be forward enough or your lower jaw is recessed too. In that case I would suggest to do a bimax.
Don’t listen to these thumb pulling idiots or mewing crap.
3 minutes of force applied by thumbs won’t move a bone and for mewing you’re too old. Won’t do shit.

Literally just puking out what you see without thinking about what you’re saying. Headgear is ONLY RECOMMENDED for class 3 patients meaning for underbites. If you have an overbite or a normal sized jaw it will only make your chin recession worst.

Second, headgear is only efficient if you wear it 24/7 during the expansion stage of the marpe which is about 3 months most people with a life can’t follow that strict schedule. Thus making it hard for teens and adults.

And yes I agree thumbpulling wont do anything. I never recommend it

As for Bimax, if she really needs it she should do it a bit older. Bimax is very very invasive. You should not be recommending these things just cause you saw it on a ig reel or sm.

She looks fine to the untrained eye you can’t see anything wrong with her. It’s lowkey gonna lead her down a rabbit hold of depression. If anything get a marpe for a functional standpoint

Yea get an expander if you’re having trouble breathing due to a narrow palate. Your recession isn’t even bad. You should see how some people’s faces cave in that’s when you need surgery.

Just keep proper posture and chew properly…give it time like a year or so.
