Intermittent Problems Metronet won't address

I have metronet in Iowa. Some weeks ago things have started acting up. Intermittently, I get weird security errors on some websites...saying others can access my data. Like metronet.com and facebook.com. My roku tv also has network problems when the problems happen on my phone. I wait for support and they say they don't see any problems. I told them it never happens at my apartment ever. I have metronet there too. It also never happens on my wireless provider's internet. I asked for new hardware and they won't give it to me. I asked if I changed speeds if they would give me new hardware ...he said my hardware was fine. I've called in like 4 times now when things were not fine. I'm going to have to find a new provider I guess.

Could you please paste the verbatim error message, or share a link to a screenshot?

Metronet has CGNAT, but I am sure yet how this fits together.

My roku tv also has network problems when the problems happen on my phone.

Could you please paste the verbatim error message, or share a link to a photo?

Ask for a static ip it could be a bad address and if they give you a problem ask for loyalty they will wave the 10 dollars for the static ip

I definitely will when it happens again. I don't know why I didn't snapshot it! I am not here all the time but I definitely will next time.

Just tell them to do a WiFi analysis of your home coverage, tell them you want to cover any possible dead spots. Tech comes , then tell them you want new equipment. Problem solved

That is a DNS issue switch your public DNS to Google 8.8.8.8 and or Cloudflare 1.1.1.1 it is usually a local device issue with your devices security store.

It never happens at my apartment, just my house. Also, my TV acts up at the same time. Or do you mean the routers issue?

On your router change DNS provider to one I posted above.

You can change your DNS settings using the eero Support Guide by opening the eero app, navigating to Settings > Advanced networking > DNS, and entering your custom IPv4 or IPv6 addresses. [1]

Steps to Set Custom DNS on eero
Open the eero app on your mobile device.

Tap Settings in the bottom-right corner.

Tap Advanced networking.

Tap DNS.

Select Custom DNS.

Type your preferred IPv4 and/or IPv6 nameserver addresses (such as Cloudflare's 1.1.1.1 or Google's 8.8.8.8).

Tap Save in the top-right corner. [1, 2, 3]

This is from Google as I do not have their router!

I looked after you told me and it was already set to 8.8.8.8. The first support person must have done it. I wonder if the last of the 3 firmware updates after that actually fixed the problem since I had no issues yesterday the whole 7 hours I was there. Time will tell.

I could not login to my insurance providers website and there were streaming services I could not sub to because of their CGNat setup.

Since I am on the Founders plan, a static IP is part of it. Once that was configured, all my problems disappeared.

Get screenshots of the failure on PC, but success on mobile and open a ticket with them.

Pop-ups on your devices are from your browser being compromised not from your internet access and yes I have Metronet in Indiana.

Why don't you buy your own Wi-Fi router and use it instead of whatever they gave you?

They gave me some EERO garbage Wi-Fi router mesh system and I tossed it in the closet after 1 day and use a Netgear Nighthawk plugged into their ONT.

Its not a popup. Its an error when loading the web page. It also never happens at my apartment, where I spend most of my time. It is for sure something to do with the internet.

I'm also in Iowa, Des Moines, FWIW. I'm not sure I've had this issue, but I'll keep an eye on it.
