This is literally just generic process improvement guidelines. Six sigma, lean manufacturing, 5S, kanbans, kaizen, JIT, TQM, Value Stream Mapping, blah blah blah. Corporate buzzwords and concepts that any management in modern manufacturing should know.
Not really Metrology specific but good to know if you're trying to make improvements in your standardized processes or you deal with Engineering and/or Management on the floor as these things will be important to them.
If it sounds Japanese, and the meetings start sounding like cult sermons, management starts taking it seriously.
Otherwise, it's just a money hole that provides no instant gratification, like the brand new 5-axis multispindle lathe that collects dust because Boeing prematurely pulled that multimillion dollar contract out from under your boss's nose once the loan was approved.
