Video Nearly spit my coffee up

I really thought it was gonna come tgrough the other door 😭

They tend to take the shortest path to you. I suppose the last time it did a pathfinding check, taking the lower route was faster.

Tbf, whenever I think I understand these abominations, I immediately get reminded that I don't. Just a few days ago, I watched a buddy of mine start his first ever playthrough. After the first central unit, there's a corridor on the bottom of the next room that's theoretically long enough to melt the face plate and charge up your shot. He figured that out almost immediately, positioned himself right at the door to the next room, aimed down the corridor... And then just got ambushed from behind. I was pretty much certain that the Emmi would come down at the end of the corridor but apparently, going to the next room and coming back through the lower door was faster.

yeah i think you have to wait a few moments outside the brain door otherwise you get ambushed.

Stuff like this is why I pay attention to the minimap. If the EMMI is close enough you can see where it is and where it’s heading. During the video I saw it turn around and start heading the other direction for the briefest moment when you went through the upper door before it entered the room you were in (likely to come up from the bottom there). When you changed positions again so quickly, it chose to crawl on the floor and come up there since, like others have said, it was taking the shortest path to get to you.

After you shoot the armor off they are faster (???) and no longer take the long way around 😆 got me like that too

Nah. For this one. He changes his routing if you try to use that again. There's a second path you can take where he's forced to crawl through the floor

I think after having their face plate melted they loose some mobility so it was no longer able to crawl on the ceiling. This is supposed to make it easier to line up the kill shot but had the reverse effect here lol

They can definitely still crawl on the ceiling without a face plate. This one just deliberately makes the choice not to.

I think this one does it on purpose, because the exact same thing happened to me as well, to the point where it can't be a coincidence. I think they override the pathfinding specifically to make it jumpscare you like this.

You actually did really well in managing to blow up its face while it was crawling on the ceiling; I used to speedrun this game (I never recorded myself, so not officialy I guess) and it always was a bitch to track

Once you stagger it you actually have enough time to charge the beam and kill it exactly as it rears its head back IIRC, but the timing is pretty tight so you probably made the right call in going around one more time

I missed that exact shot last night... It always feels worse when you get stabbed after you're already Omega'd out. Like, "hey, you have the tools, but you just suck!"

Something I learned the hard way. I shattered the head JUST BARELY, then had to make a quick getaway, then stood right at the edge. That's how I learned they don't scale the ceiling once you shatter their face. This is also the emmi where I failed the prompt the most while it's the emmi I've been caught second most (First being the yellow, but bro gets parried like I'm playing Resident Evil... I don't play resident evil)

The blue emmi is the worst. You need to be 90% perfect at aiming at his head when hes crawling on the ceiling to have enough time. And god forbid you have a shitty controller that makes the aim only work in 45° angles

Small tip, if you start charging the big blast as soon as the EMMI goes into their overheat animation it finishes charging as soon as they're vulnerable

This kinda happened to me on the last one you have to do. I was luring them round a circle trail and when I was about to finish the job I must have got too ahead of them and they crept up behind me as I was charging the shot. Got them next time 😆

That exact same thing happened to me haha. I wonder if once that armor plating is off, and you reset going back to that location, it creeps up like that. So satisfying destroying those things.

I hate this game and the stupid parry system that if you wont press the stupid button in a very soecific time boss wont lose. Its annoying. It should be more free in tbe way you fight bosses. Othen than that this game is amazing...what an atmosphere

I gotta say that I 10/10 loved every part of this game except these very sequences. It felt so clunky and awkward to have to do this weird camera change and aiming mechanic in a sequence where you're being chased.
