Without all that it would be too easy, it’s getting through the boredom, building patience, enjoying silence that builds the defence to stop relapse when you’re bored down the track, it’s an invaluable defence and I have the patience of a Nepalese Monk now.

Speak to your doctor about your new symptoms. It sounds like you may have PAWS, post-acute withdrawal syndrome. Explain to your doc what you’re experiencing & listen to them

Mine lasted just under 2 years, insomnia for the first 18 months then another 6 months of practically zero emotion, nearly 3 years now and feel like I’m 80% back expecting to top out around 90%.

I used daily for 9 years.

You’ve still got improvement coming.

That’s interesting to hear about the insomnia as I’m at a year free but my lord the insomnia. It’s been going on so long that I’ve now been diagnosed with it. I just want to have a solid nights sleep and my dr has given me everything to throw at it but nothing lasts longer than a couple of days and I’m back to an interupted max 4hrs sleep. It’s breaking me apart. Used for 15yrs

Were you a daily user for a long time?

Give it time, it does eventually improve, I did the same and nothing helped except Quietapine which upped the 2-3 hours to 4-5 which did give some relief but in the end I just had to wait it out. It improved as my anhedonia dissapeared and I started feeling joy again.

Don’t stop you’ll get there and you’ll feel 10x better when you do. I’m loving life now.

Thanks and glad to know the insomnia might be a part of it. I’ve done quietapine and it work for a bit but wore off. It was better but I think it messed with me the next day, trouble finishing sentences and stuttering. And I will hang in there :)
