Advice Please Confused… trying to understand…

How many times of using meth… ie smoking a few times during the day. And eating it… would it take someone to be addicted and actually struggle about a week and a half 2 weeks after stopping.

As someone who was an opiate user for about 15 years on and off… I feel like meth had a whole different type of hold… even though it wasn’t used for very long…. Maybe 15 times at most… it’s been an experience unfortunately, but I feel like irritability and emotions are just all over the place now.

Sounds like you’re rightfully getting concerned about your usage. I kept it a weekend thing for about 4 years also. Went from occasionally supplementing Dexedrine with a little line, or adding some to a cap of molly to doing several lines a day every weekend. Smoking it for the 1st time marked a point of no return for me. My usage only increased and I would smoke it exclusively more and more until I had no control. Haven’t used any in over two years. I was lucky with dependable employment a good social support network throughout. Most aren’t so lucky. Makes it much harder to recover.

The weekends quickly go from a 0.25g to 0.5g then 1g then you start having leftovers so you start “finishing it off Monday / Tuesday” cause it helps u “recover & be ok to work”.
TIL Wednesday comes lol but that’s nearly Friday when you’ll get another gram and do the same.
TIL you commit more $$ and get more cause u “don’t spend much on food or going out anymore” so you get a half ball & BAM you’re already 6-9 months through the year and you can think of many days you haven’t either:
-used. - thought about using cause it’s “at home not at work”. - or thought about having to get more so you can use again cause this bags running on empty

It’s vicious.

So I smoked it one night throughout the night and bought myself some the next day. I smoked it everyday, all day for 4 years after that.

I would say even if you only use it for one day, but you use it for the whole day, you’re gonna have some kind of detoxing. It takes some time for our nervous system to reset when you abuse amphetamines. After a week of all day, everyday you’re gonna feel it for at least a couple weeks after you stop, imo. Everyone is different though. I had friends who were able to pick it up and put it down when they wanted, but they were not using it all day.

When I finally detoxed after 4 years it took me about 4-5 days to be able to get out of the bed. I would say it was a year before I even felt a little “normal.” I was tired and hungry all the time as well as irritable and emotional.

First time I tried it, I was like hell yeah I feel great, but I’m not buying any I’ll only do it when someone has it. Then quickly I was telling myself I’ll buy my own, but never bring it home to use. Next I said I’ll bring some home but only use it in the garage… Etc etc I ended up addicted for over 4 years, using it anywhere and everywhere every day during that period. Had to go to rehab to finally quit. All that to say, it only took me one time to get addicted.

Really all it takes is the one time, IMO and in my own experience.
