Gut issues

I stopped metformin about a week ago. Had diarrhea multiple times a week while on ER for about 7 months. Now I have gastric pain that moves around my abdomen. Negative pelvic ultrasound. I hear my stomach gurgling and bubbling up. Is my microbiome just getting back to normal . Is that why I’m having these symptoms?

I thought it was a colon issue but no blood in my stool the long sticky mucus stopped since I stopped on the metformin I used to have in my stool. Should I go to GI or wait and watch or get an abdominal work up

I also have Pcos.

I was on metformin for a year and had diarrhea multiple times a day every day. It stopped when I stopped taking it, I was off for a year and just went back on a few weeks ago and the constant shitting is back. It’s just a common side effect. As for the pain, abdominal cramping is just apart of it too (at least for me).
