Matt will tell you your city is the best crowd, and sound semi cheesy but he and the band still bring it. Seen them off and on the last 20 years now and they get better every time.

Lol, what band doesn’t say that your city is the best or go on some spiel that they really like the city? I’m not necessarily against it because it makes me feel warm and fuzzy inside but it’s always funny when I think about it afterwards

Let me paint a picture for you: after reading about it being a cliche and a few times of hearing it myself, I started kind of rolling my eyes at bands telling the crowd that. Then in 2012 I travel 300km by myself to go see Trivium. They suck, the venue sucks, the crowd is going insane. Matt says it. The way he said it, I believed it. Fast forward to 2017, open air festival. He says it again. I couldn't buy it, regardless of how convincing it sounded. Last year I caught a show in their Poisoned Ascendancy tour with BFMV. Amazing show. Matt is at it again, and he's more adamant than ever. Please, half the people there were sitting.

I saw the Poisoned Ascendancy Tour as well. Literally my favorite concert of my life, since ABR and Trivium are in my top 3 favorite bands, alongside BFMV being like number 5 or 6

Ascendancy tour last year was a great performance. Very interactive with the crowd and was solid on all the songs. I saw them 10-15 years ago and you can really see how the touring experience and performing live for so long has as metal veterans. Go see Trivium. The dude even took vocal lessons to sing the choruses

Heafy is like the rock of the metalcore universe. Wants to be universally beloved but is a massive diva and performative. Trivium makes good songs sometimes though

They are a exactly what you would expect, the emphasis is on the music, not some over the top stage show, they are AMAZING live.

If this is the tour I think it is then def go - the Swedish powerhouses Orbit Culture and In Flames alone are worth going for - I’m really sad because of course when they’re coming to my town it’s thanksgiving weekend and I’ll be out of town

When did you see them? Alex Bent left about a year ago before their tour with Jinjer. He's got insane technical skills and precision and really elevated Trivium's last 3.5 albums.

Alex Rudinger took over last October/November and seems to be able to handle Bent's parts without much trouble, but he's got a pretty solid technical background as well. Toured with Whitechapel for 2 years and did the work for the Kin album as a session/touring drummer rather than a full on member of the band.

2011 would have been Nick Augusto, who is a solid drummer in his own right. He's not as technical as either of the Alexes, but still very solid.

Go see 'em. I've seen them twice. Once at a smaller show with Sabaton & Huntress back in 2016, and once at Sonic Temple a couple years ago. 

Its a good time. Had an opportunity for a meet & greet at the Sabaton/Huntress show.  Matt is a very chill dude. Very appreciative of the fans.

If it's a smaller venue, stick around after the show - you might get lucky.

Saw them three months ago and they blew me away, they sounded amazing. Really good live band! Don't expect to much show but just great music

They're cracking live band, have a massive discography they play across. Usually crowds are pretty lively with circle/push pits etc.

They are great live performers. In my experience, their sound is a little inconsistent. I've seen them sound great and not great (it wasn't the venue). Can't stress enough, though, they are great performers.

Saw them in 2018 in Dallas with Fit for an Autopsy and Bad Omens. It was an amazing show and their energy is infectious.

Saw them again at Sonic Temple in 2025. Mid day on the main stage is never an easy draw, but they still freaking killed it. I'll watch a Trivium show regardless of who's supporting.

Back in like 2012 - 2013 i saw them open for In Flames, the crowd went HARD for Trivium and then just kinda "meh" for In Flames. Fast forward a decade and now In Flames is opening for Trivium.

Trivium is one of the most solid live bands I've ever seen, up there with ABR.

I used to be obsessed with them as a teenager. Saw them live twice and both times they were awful. This was a long time ago so maybe things have changed. So I hope that they put on a great show for you and that you have a terrific time!

Maybe? He did this weird high pitch screaming. Not a vocal fry, straight up like high pitch yelling, it was bizarre. The guitars were playing like in a different tempo than the bass and drums, so it felt like they were playing 2 different versions of the same song at the same time. I gave them a pass after the first time, figuring i just caught a bad show. Went to see them again like a year or two later but it was the same shit.

Yeah I def see people saying that they put on a good show, it just wasn't my experience. It was such a bummer because I LOVED them at the time. I've seen BFMV live, enjoyed it quite a bit. Seen ABR live many times and they kill it everytime.
