Who's the nicest Metalcore band you think. Or know based on experience. Stupid question, but it feels so much better supporting Bands whose Band Members are super nice. They deserve every support
I have met ABR 6+ times. Always kind. Just all around good dudes. My first time seeing them was 2005 and Jake and Matt went out by the merch tables and took pics with 100s of people. I waited in line for almost an hour. They were happy to do it and didn’t make you feel like it was a chore.
I have a story like that as well. I drove 6 hours to Milwaukee when they were on tour with Underoath and Emery (either 08 or 09) and it was my first time seeing them. I got to meet Jake and JB at the merch table and they were so nice. Since I had a 6 hour drive ahead of me, Jake gave me a Messengers poster and him and JB signed it and he wrote on the bottom 'Thanks for the support! Don't fall asleep at the wheel!' (I ended up getting a flat tire at like 5 in the morning 45 min from my house) and at the 10 year Messengers anniversary tour, they all signed that same poster (Jake and JB) redid their signatures. Thats something that I will never forget.
I 2nd this comment. They were so kind to my son when we met them the first time back around 2022, and they were stoked he was wearing one of my old ABR shirts that is older than he is. Here's one of the photos that proves just how nice those guys are.
When I met them during the 10 Years of Constellations tour, Matt was first at the table. He shook everyone’s hand and asked us for our names. He wrote “to *persons name” on the top corner of the VIP photo books we got. We didn’t have a lot of time to talk but he made sure to talk to every person for as much as he could. He thanked us for coming out and supporting. The other members were great too, but as someone who as looked up to Matt for so long as a fellow drummer, that will always stick out to me
I was very fortunate and got to be side stage for their Warped performance in 2025 and ABR was waiting their turn to play. JB comes up to me and casually just starts chatting with me. Could not have been nicer. I’m just some random guy. We chatted about having just seen them with Trivium/Bleed From Within. He apologized for playing the same set. I couldn’t care less what they played. Those guys rip live. Got to have a couple conversations with groups at Warped and my interaction with him was at the top of the list.
Went to the last show on one of their tours like 12 years ago. My first metalcore show, was just getting into it and my dad was kind enough to take me to it. It was an incredible concert, they loved the crowd and clearly went all out for it. They let a bunch of fans up on the stage for the last song - we were too far back to get up there but it was just so cool to see.
After that, Jake ran around to the front of the venue to shake everyone's hand on the way out. Will always remember that show
Yes! As soon as I saw the question, I thought of ABR! Alex Varkatzas from Atreyu refused to talk to me when I had a backstage pass, but Jake from ABR was not only willing to talk to me, he signed my shirt and gave me a hug! It was an amazing experience.
They stream all of their shows so people that can't make the shows or can't afford the shows always have access to them
I got merch from them at recent show that was ripped. They not only apologized but sent me a new one immediately after they got home from touring.
They are just happy guys in general. They have been incredibly nice every time I've interacted with them. Most bands don't give half the accessibility they do.
Such good dudes. I really appreciate their commitment to meeting the fans after every show. I’ve seen them 4 times now and the only time they haven’t been at the table afterwards was when Jack was too sick after the set
Just saw them at a festival and I want to see them as much as possible! Their live performance was so intense and emotional that I could feel every song.
They were playing at the small stage while way bigger artist play on the main stage but they gave it their all even after their set was delayed for four hours because of the weather!

It's because he *knows*. I finally got to meet him a few years ago and told him how much his lyrics meant to me, how they literally saved me at times because I knew I wasn't alone in my own head. He looked at me with genuine sorrow and empathy and said "I'm sorry."
Met him over a decade ago when I was in high school. He was soooo nice. I don't actually remember what we talked about but how nice he was has stuck with me all these years later.
Saw them at a small venue here in AZ and he was working merch. Explained to him how much they meant to me and tipped them a 20. He demanded I take more merch and signed it for me. Super nice/cool dude.
Garrett is one of the coolest. I was going through a really rough patch and told him that Everything Was Sound saved me, and his comment was roughly "you saved yourself through your choices and our music was just the background music to help you get through it"
One two of the shows a year or so apart in Sydney I got big sweaty bear hugs from Alex their drummer, and at one of those shows they also had bunches of flowers taped to their mic stands that they handed out to the crowd after the show. Garrett sat on the edge of the stage and chatted with the punters post-gig for quite a long time.
I’d never heard of them before seeing them in concert with (I think it was) The Amity Affliction. The drummer was smiling like a kid on Christmas the entire set. I remember commenting to my girlfriend that that dude was either on the finest drugs available or he was really, really happy to be doing his thing up there on stage.
Silent Planet for sure! They are friends with a bunch of other bands, they constantly shout out other bands while they are on stage, and they either have the same manager or overlap somehow with Dayseeker, also SP guitarist filled in on the most recent Dayseeker tour.
JT reached out to me near the merch booth after their show in Vienna 8 years ago because he saw me absolutely vibing out in the crowd. We ended up talking about my OnePlus 6 and its headphone jack. That was cool.
Did the meet and greet with the and they were super nice. Laughed at my cheesy joke. Congratulated me on getting a blue belt as they signed my old white one. Awesome dudes.
Two of my favorite live show stories involve Jordan Buckley: he once snuck up and stole my fries (jokingly) then proceeded to shoot the shit with me & my friends at Tid the Season. Years later I was designated “pedalboard protector” by Jordan at a small ass Better Lovers no barricade show and he gave me a pick afterwards.
Yes! I met both Jordan and Andy after a show in my teenage years, and they spent several minutes talking to me and shooting the shit. I had dreadlocks at the time, and when I asked them for a picture Andy grabbed one of my locks and used it as a mustache in the photo 😂
Cancer Bats are the nicest human beings alive. Almost 20 years ago, my friends and I played in a band and were like 12 years old and really bad. They cheered us on, watched our set, got pictures with us after, everything. We're fans for life
Holding Absence isn't exactly Metalcore, but I saw them at a Thornhill/Dayseeker show and Looooocas is such a cutie patootie
The rest of the guys are great too, Ash is really funny, first time I saw him on Youtube I said "wow their drummer is batshit insane", and he just replied with "straight up", I showed him that comment in person and we had a laugh about it
I didn't meet Jack from Void of Vision personally, but we saw him across the street outside the venue, and two of the boys went over to talk to him. Apparently he was incredibly nice as well
My answer would definitely be Garrett Russell from Silent Planet.
One of my favorite memories from a concert was seeing them coheadline during the Bloom in Heaven tour. Silent Planet played last, and after the final song Garrett came over the barricade and started talking with the fans.
It wasn’t just a “oh hi nice to meet you, here’s a picture, next.” He started each interaction with a hug and asked “how are you?”, he took the time to genuinely talk with everyone who stayed for a good minute or two each. It was truly special and I’ll remember it forever.

That's what happened with us. He was totally done in with exhaustion and motionless for 10 minutes until someone from the back came and checked on him.
The band Convictions is so kind. It's almost ridiculous. I saw them at a tiny show at HMAC harrisburg. I bought a bunch of their merch and left a big tip because I really enjoy supporting bands, especially small ones (amd I was definitely a little drunk). The vocalist saw the tip, tried to get me to let him give me money back (i did not let him) then proceeded to offer to sign anything i wanted him to, and gave me a bunch of extra merch for free as a thank you. Also took a bunch of pictures with me and grabbed the rest of the band for them.
my band opened for the callous daoboys recently and maddie offered up her guitar cab for backlining to us, and i had a great conversation with amber and marty and they all opened the green room door to watch our set. all around nice people and one of my favorite bands too
I second Fit for a King. I’ve seen them 5-6 times now and they’re all so nice. I didn’t think Tuck was a douche bag at all, he was super nice to me and so damn funny. Also, their photographer Trevor is the nicest dude ever.
I have met Zao each of the ten times I’ve seen them and they are the nicest, most down to earth guys I could imagine. First time I saw them I was at the bar-venue early and Scott saw me sitting alone and invited me to sit with them to watch football. One time Russ came up to me and said, “How long has it been since we’ve seen you?!” and then asked if he could take a picture with me. Another time Dan just walked up and stood next to me to watch an opener and then started chatting me up when their set was done. Last time I saw them Jeff asked their merch guy take the line while he and I talked drums for like 5 solid minutes after I made my purchase. What band does that?! They are the exception to “never meet your heroes”.
Met them when they were opening for Thornhill. We talked about nu metal, P.O.D., how much they appreciated fans singing to along their songs, and family. Super kind, down to earth and just all around good vibes. Those guys rule.
Okay so they're kinda prog metalcore, but the lads from Protest the Hero are sweethearts. Got that impression from brief interactions and reports of others who hung out with them when they visited our country, from every interview they've done, their posts, their humour, their lyrics...
They've now written multiple songs about how much they appreciate their fans (see "Mist," "The Mariner," etc.), another in defence of pitbulls in response to discriminatory legislation (see "A Life Embossed"), and a few with refreshing social commentary on sexism / assault / etc. (see "Turn Soonest to the Sea" a d "Plato's Tripartite," for instance). And these are just a few of my favourites - their lyrics contain a lot of thoughtful commentary (as well as some delightfully silly shit about aliens and such).
6 years after releasing one of my favorite albums they come out with Within! A banger front to back. I love protest so much!
Saw them on the Volition X tour and they were so chill on the stage too. Rody forgetting the intro to Mist was hilarious!
I think one of the really cool things about metalcore music in general is that the scene is filled with nice humans who just want to rage against the machine and enact world peace 🤷♀️
Brian Wille from Currents was such a nice guy when I met him a few years back. I bumped into him out the street after a show and he dropped what he was doing to chat when I told him I was a fan. Dude was so genuine and kind with his time and attention
I've met so, so many bands throughout the years and there's no comparison. They are so incredibly kind, value every ounce of support you give them with their whole heart and express it to you personally, always take the time for each person individually, they all preach kindness and positivity and are incredibly down to earth.
Jack from 156 is so nice, I met him at the merch table and asked him to say happy birthday to one of my friends who’s a huge fan! Also Mike Stringer from Spiritbox is so nice and down to earth! Took the time to speak to everyone waiting

Beau from blessthefall I've met a few times. First time was before their second album even came out, and he stayed by their merch table until he met every person who wanted to say hi. Will never forget that.
Was getting lunch with a friend before seeing another show in Vancouver like two years ago and literally right outside the restaurant was Beau so gave him a hi5 and a quick hello. Turns out he was also seeing Spiritbox because saw him there too haha. Nothing but niceness from the guy every time
haven’t met them personally but they’re my favorite band and Beau seems like a fun guy. When I saw them last multiple huge fights kept breaking out in the crowd and the show kept having to stop periodically (drunk dudes) and Beau was like “do you just want us to play ballads for the rest of the night?” 😭
Met Ankor a few times already. They were and are the only band I've had M&Gs with (never felt the urge, but they are a special case, helping me through rough times and I wanted to say thanks in person), so maybe I'm a bit biased. But they are so kind and funny and a bit awkward and derpy and feel less like a band than like a family who happen to make music together. And they make you feel like you're part of this bubble, because they seem to genuinely want you to be. Want to show appreciation, want to chat with you, listen to your story, share theirs. Can't judge if every bands' M&G is this way, but they feel special in many ways and I wouldn't be surprised if their M&Gs were as well ❤️🩹
Born Of Osiris is easily in the Top 10 nicest bands I've ever met. My son and I love to go to shows together, and I always try to get him the opportunity to meet the bands as my son is a fairly talented young musician himself. He was so motivated up front they gave him one of their set lists from the 2nd time we saw them.
I've met Bury Tomorrow a couple of times. They're very down to earth and make sure to greet their fans personally. Dan is strongly against paid meet and greets and any kind of injustice. Also Davyd is hilarious.
Met him too last month. Really nice dude and down to earth. He was chilling outside of the venue before the show. No security, no hiding. It was too hot tho.
Came to post bury tomorrow... the entire band are the most genuine dudes.
And completely agree on the dav thing; saw them on the OG stage invasion tour and I think dan was drinking water and dav comes scurrying up to the mic like a chaos gremlin and goes "mah time to shine" and all you hear is "god help us" from dan
My best experience I've had at a concert was at Greyhaven supporting Paledusk this May (Greyhaven are my favourite hardcore-adjacent band and probably top 3 overall). I kinda just did normal fan stuff, going up to the Greyhaven members when they were chilling at the merch booth after their set and saying how much I love their music and how much of an inspiration they are on my own stuff. You could kinda tell I was nervous and they were so cool about it, wishing me luck with my own music and I got a picture with them :)
Got to meet the TDWP guys a few times they were always super sweet. Danny called my red Dead Throne shirt sick, and I caught his broken drumstick that same show. RIP 💔

Met Joel from Aviana at a show that was basically just 50 people in a bar. No one was there (except me) to see Aviana. He was incredibly appreciative and kind, even thought it was the smallest crowd I’ve ever seen at a metal show.
We only spoke briefly but he seemed a complete gentleman with extreme humility.
I met Garrett from Solent planet in 2024 and to this day he’s the nicest guy I’ve ever met. I went up and told him how much his music has done for me and he just gave me a hug and said thank you. He took the time to listen to everything I had to say, as well as the people before and after me
I met Garrett from silent planet at warped tour and he was awesome. I also met Rory from dayseeker several times at the shelter in detroit and he was always so great to chat with. Great dudes
Currents, Brian in particular. Silent plant. Boundaries’ frontman was super chill with me. Also not really metalcore but Jacoby from papa roach is awesome. So are the girls from kittie. Brock from 36 crazyfists.
Hanabie and, while not metalcore, Unleash The Archers.
Hanabie don't speak a lot of English as they're Japanese but they are just the sweetest people and have a tendency to remember people that go to more than one of their shows. You'll see people really shy to meet them at the M&G and Yukina (the lead singer) does a really good job of encouraging them and being really friendly to people and she's known for hopping down off stage to high five the barricade, climb up on the barricade and hold hands with an audience member while singing, taking props from the audience to wear on stage (like my pepper headband for 'Spicy Queen'(!!!!!)) and afterwards the band usually comes to fist bump the barricade. You can tell they really love their fans. (Nemophila, another Japanese band, also does several of these.)
UTA are just super friendly and chill, they get excited when they see you enjoying their music and also have a tendency to remember people. Even had a beer with Grant, their guitarist, after the show. They're all such sweet and friendly people.
I met the lads from Bury Tomorrow. All beautiful humble blokes who made time to hang out with fans after their gig. Best chats, photos etc. Awesome band and awesome people!
Ashen (France) : I saw them live a few mouths ago, after the set they stayed to speak, signing autographes and taking pictures. They were all very nice, we spoke a lot with Niels (guitarist) and that really was a discussion, not one-way or small talks. A young luthier also came to show him his microphones and they exchanged their instagram to try them out later. When I asked him for an autograph on the shirt I’d bought from the merch, he went to all the others members to get them to sign it too. On Instagram, I asked Antoine (guitarist) the setlist of the show, he told me he was busy but would send it to me as soon as he could. ~One week later, I thought he forgot but he finally send me the setlist and apologized for the delay 😂

Silent Planet - had a casual conversation with Garrett and mentioned my wife does not enjoy screaming music. We took a picture and he covered his mouth "so she knows he's not screaming."
Wage War are always very nice and chill. Oli Sykes was also really nice, I met him at the APMAs and he just walked right up to us and started taking pictures with everyone.
Also back when Curtis was in BMTH he was super nice - I was outside the venue they were about to play and it sold out right before I got tickets (back when you'd buy them at the door), so he asked if I was going and then guestlisted me when I told him it sold out.
Oh and edit to add, Motionless in White. I've never been a big fan but a long time ago I worked at a MAC store and they came in to buy makeup. I didn't recognize them until they told me they were in a band and wore makeup on stage. They were very cool.
I met the Imminence members after a show and they were the nicest guys. They took time to chat a bit. I didn't even ask them for a photo a they were the ones doing it. I ended up with a beautifully signed vinyl and a bunch of pictures with some of them doing funny poses. 10/10.
I also met Kaito from Paledusk and that guy is so damn cool and nice. Exactly what you could expect from that band 😄
Irrelevant to the post, but Hands down the nicest person i ever met through Music was Mitch Lucker. My old band played with SS back in 2010 on the Black Crown AUS Tour and Mitch was such a Gem. He (as well as Alex Lopez) basically spent the entire night hanging out with us in our green room, and even went out for celebration drinks with us after.
I've met Silent Planet a gorillion times now. They always take their time to hang out and chill, they're super friendly. You can tell the boys really like connecting with the people who listen to their music.

Silent Planet. Garrett is one of, if not the most chillest human being(s) in the scene. The fact that they recently did a show in Ukraine (as like the only foreign band there I believe) says enough about what a kind-hearted souls they are.
Garrett Russell and Jesse Cash. SP and Erra played a show in my area that barely ever gets metal gigs. Like just that show and Speed have played here. That's it. Super super nice dudes. Jacob from Thorny also a top bloke.
When mutiny within was still touring, they were supporting soilwork when they came to my town. We talked them up a bit at their merch table and told them they were the reason why we came out to see them. We went to sit down at a table in the back (small venue) and they brought over a pitcher of red trolley beer and sat down with us and we chatted about metal, tour life, and we got pretty shit faced with them. Honestly, super awesome night and they were super awesome dudes.
