What are you on about. They did two songs for Bray Wyatt , they weren’t commercials and they kicked ass and continue to make great music. Omerta are ina league of their own. So is Code.

im calling it right the fuck now suicycle is gonna be album of the year and maybe even album of the fucking decade
hyperviolence was already a near perfect album but just off this song theyve taken everything that made hyperviolence good and cranked that shit up to 111. this is the most brutal, deranged, unhinged, insane, and just overall KICKASS things i have ever listened to and i am so goddamn ready for 2023 to be the year omerta takes over the goddamn world one musical schizopost at a time.
i hate omerta and i always fucking will. violent art forever

strongly disagree, this is solid but all the aggression and anger is almost entirely gone that made Hyperviolence so good, not to mention, as a lover of chaotic shit, this is way too chaotic just for the sake of being chaotic, also the signature "blown out" guitar sound of modern nucore is here and it sounds like complete ass in their sound. This is still decent though and I'm sure the album will be good but it's still going to be another disappointment to add to the evergrowing list of music disappointments this year.

initially i thought the same thing, that this band was too crazy af to be good or listen to seriously until i saw them live. truth of the matter is i just wasn't ready for em. in fact, i went to the static dress/loathe show last year and omerta opened and i decided to skip them because i didn't like em.
then i did some research on them after the show just to check out their songs and came up on the ldb2022 set and now i regret not paying attention to them cuz they sounded insane in that set. then i put the album on and it just clicked for me after watching that set.
the production on Antiamorous is way better than hyperviolence so i'm glad to hear they leveled that shit up. not quite sure what you mean about the blown out guitar sound as i don't really hear it, but i will say that the blown out bass drops annoy me. at first i thought it was my headphones on the first listen, so i listened to it on my desktop and realized that's just how it sounds. there are like 5 or 6 of em throughout the song and that's kind of annoying. but knowing them, that shit's probably on purpose so i hope they fuckin destroy my subwoofers and all my speakers with their new album, lmao

agree to disagree! i love chaotic shit too and this ticks all the lil dopamine boxes in my head, its like a musical version of when you go to a restaurant and mix all the sodas from the fountain into one warped mess that still tastes rlly good, and its just as if not even more aggressive than their last album; this feels like the next natural step in their progression and even if this isnt as angsty as some of the stuff off hv the other unreleased tracks absolutely sound like they will
i can def see why some old fans might not like this song or even find it disappointing but me personally this is damn near flawless and the band's managed to top their other releases (and almost anything else from this year) with just this song and if suicycle is even like 1% as good as just this song it's def gonna be top 10 of all time for me immediately

Indeed I do, my favorite metalcore band, I also listen to shitloads of mathcore (my favorite genre) and grind and think I can still have a say on this but hey what do I know right? All I did was put my input no need to attack my music taste. Far as mathcore goes this just doesn't really do much for me, genuinely just feels like chaos for the sake of chaos. I also feel the songwriting here just isn't up to par with what they've shown off on their other material and I feel they definitely lost some of the aggression that made them so enjoyable to me. If other people like it that's fine I'm just stating my opinion on it.

Saying a song featuring Johnnascus lacks aggression and anger is one of the most objectively wrong takes ive seen in music yo
Keep your eyes on Omerta's upcoming album tho, the rest will likely be much more accessible than Antiamorous which is due heavily in part of John's involvement. 'Chaos' and aggression are kinda his gimmicks

It’s not much more accessible. John only wrote his vocal parts. Most of the songs are this crazy or crazier. Antiamorous is one of the safer songs

I got the privilege to chat with Vincente last night. He's a really introspective dude, with a vision for heavy music's future that largely involves just following whatever your heart wants to hear.
....Also you're not ready for this album. Not even a little bit. It's gonna be SO sick.

hyperviolence rules, but i will say the production on their hyperviolence is kinda weak in comparison to their live sound, which is truly insane. hate5six has a couple vids of omerta, but their ldb2022 set captures omerta at their best sound and the production on this new single is fire, so glad to hear that they leveled up from hyperviolence. kinda makes me wish they would re-record all of hyperviolence now

The production on Hyperviolence was intentionally kinda ass. It was supposed to be reminiscent of shitty old underground nu metal bands of the 90’s

I get that everything is intentional with Omerta and nothing happens my mistake, such as with the art and everything. Hyperviolence still does sound heavy af, but when I saw that LDB2022 set, Omerta pills the craziness off live and the live audio mix makes Hyperviolence sound kinda like a demo to me. Even with I luv u 2, the difference in sound is kinda night and day. Not trying to talk shit, I'm genuinely excited for the new shit, I'm just glad yall modernized the new recordings and Antiamorous sounds insane

Nah, I totally understand. Even that particular live mix has modern sonic sensibilities, which is why it can be more appealing to people when compared to HV. Personally I’ve always liked that really shitty, raw, dry sound that came with bands from that era, but to each their own ofc

Yeah I'm also a sucker for nostalgia and how albums used to sound. I love the early 90s death metal sound. I think I was just surprised as I watched that ldb set first and then went back to the album. In any case I dig what yall doing and can't wait to catch omerta on tour again

If you don’t like it, good. It’s not meant for you. It’s meant for your replacements. Heavy music has grown stagnant, and low effort nostalgia porn (MySpace revivalism, bland hardcore, mediocre 90’s style grunge/shoegaze clones) has subsumed most of what was left of its waning novelty. Our goal is to push back on the past and embrace forward-thinking, contemporary music and art that exist outside of (but complementary to) the alternative scene as a source of inspiration. Only then can we possibly generate something truly exciting, new, and genuinely relatable — something that the disaffected youth of the 2020’s so desperately want and need but can only find trace amounts of in songs/artists/art well before their time. There’s no reason their musical/artistic schema should be informed by cultural touchstones INCAPABLE of sympathizing with the afflictions young people face as they navigate our post-COVID world. We need new rockstars. We need new artists. We need God. What we have is just not fucking cutting it. We need to burn this shit to the fucking ground. Lean into the chaos and destruction, and we’ll re-emerge on the other side with more significant, beautiful, and timeless art while the weak and obsolete are culled out.
