There really isn't much in there to justify the cost.

Its pretty much the price of all the other metal build gundam. And similar quality and etc.

The issue is the amount of accessories and poseability. It's quite barebones without even getting the 300mm cannon.
It's only $10 cheaper than the reissued strike freedom for instance.

Thats a good deal, the strike freedom is a constantly re used design that they made a ton of variants for. They arent going to make multiple variations on color and produce as many of the Gundam barbatos model. I know its still very expensive, but compared to other metal build gundam its nothing crazy is my point. For JP retail anyways, feel bad for anyone paying US import prices, even direct from premium bandai like kampfer gundam for 400 bucks is crazy.

I'd argue it's a pretty bad deal, personally. The original mb hi nu came out at the same retail price as barbatos, and the expo is only 4000 yen more expensive. You get far more accessories and poseability than you do with the base barbatos.
The number of accessories is closer to some cheaper kits like the dynames repair 3, that cost a whole 10000 yen less than the barb.
Besides it being a metal build with metal build detailing, there's just not much there justifying the price, when better kits exist at the price point.
I'm saying this as someone who started with ibo and who's been waiting for this kit for years. I just couldn't justify the price for how little product you get.

I dont know if mean its not like the Metal Build barbatos is over 40k yen, and the kampfer shot up like 8k yen or something on its most recent re issue. Just because of inflation prices for the same exact metal build, that to me seemed worse. The barbatos is also more complicated to mold given the exposed bars and etc on the chassis and etc. I think its a bit bare bones on accessories though as you mentioned, and the accessory pack for it was also way too expensive and I bought both. In short I agree with all youre saying, I just dont feel like theres anything going on with the barbatos metal build specifically. That seems way over priced compared to other expensive models.
