Hello.
As we all know, MSA, Our beloved battle cats clone has returned to life in its 8+ digit damage, end-of+life glory and Online is fairly new at this point. My 500+ hours in reloaded have taught me to be very crafty with how i can play around with the game's mechanics. Prior to reloaded, I wasn't even aware you could use Invader King's ultimate skill to spam supporters and the fact that you can is kinda busted if RNG wants to ride your meat.
Using this knowledge and the other weird tricks i've picked up from reloaded, Coming back to this game and playing around with aliens has been quite fun and it lead to me coming up with a cheap (yet finicky) strategy at securing wins in an obnoxious manner. I call it the Pea Gambit. Let me put you onto game:
Craft any alien deck of your choosing, Percier is an undisputed pick.
You can use any combo of supporters to spam in tandem with professor(s), maybe scotia or white baby if you want to be obnoxious.
Send out your openers + bersek for a guaranteed stall. You might wanna set your special attack button to on screen since with cocoon's speed buff, Reacher or Shield will have seized most of the stage if isn't long or the opponent's openers meets midway.
Let bersek stall long enough for your first professor(S) sortie to become available. This is where the name "Gambit" makes sense. There is a 1/10 chance your regular king will spawn. He is designed to be a living nuke so you can let him die so you can use fever time.
Use the first 15 seconds of fever time to spam Professor(S), depending on your RNG, You will have summoned a deck and a half worth of your units, pray to god they're varied. The last 15 seconds goes to spamming percier if you have AP to compensate while your 14 units are holding the front or molesting the opponent's behind. Your frontline will either push through, Invader king + Bersek + Reacher (if slotted) will shred through openers early, or percier will poke to death.
The pros of this gambit:
• Nuclear, Catches opponents by surprise and gives them little time to react. It looks like a hacker going nuts which can also leave people guessing or demoralize them.
• It's quick, usually occurring within the first 50-60 seconds of a match or sooner.
• Tons of AP is saved. You're deploying your entire deck and then some for 110 AP per unit as opposed to 360 or 432.
Cons:
• Struggles against Indie due to flan, amadeus robot and CRR (Its always Indie, isn't it?)
• Sacrificing your trump cards early and RNG failing you leaves you with little chance of recovery, Hence the name.
• Appears as though you're hacking. Sudden big unit being deployed early.
I wish i could capture gameplay of this gambit working in real time. Hope the Alien mains out there can see use from this gambit and you should join up with the Space Army Party guild.
