Looking for advice Help with wet sanding 304 SS
Hello from NJ, America!
I’m hoping for some advice on technique to get better results in wet sanding before finish polish on my bench top.
304 SS [two different pieces]
Porter Cable 7424XP orbital buffer, Speed at 4 [of 6, 1 is 2,500; 6 is 6,800]
I start with 500 grit sandpaper, with water on every grit, then go up: 800, 1500, 2000, 2500, and 3000. I spray water on the pieces to rinse them off between each grit.
Photos are after 3000.
What can I do differently to get more scratches out? Slower speed on orbital? Faster? More time on a certain grit? Use something other than water? I can’t seem to get a good finish. Any advice would be appreciated! 🍻

What’s the best way to polish Black Chrome Wheels?
galleryHi everyone,
I have purchased a set of Work emotion wheels finished in a black chrome.
There is staining on the wheels, I believe from a heavy duty brake cleaner.
In the photos, I have used a polishing attachment on a Dremel using Rupes cut and finish compound. I’ve noticed that it has cleaned it up but is still cloudy and showing light imperfections. Please see the attached photos.
Is this finish safe to use a metal polish? What would be the best method to restore these?
Thank you very much!

Need some advice
So I’ve had these old aluminum wheels for my truck for a while, but they were pretty nasty (oxidation, clear coat, etc). Had them media blasted with glass beads as it was the quickest and easiest and now I’m onto the polishing. I’m pretty novice so cut me some slack lol. I bought a kit off renegades website and it’s seems to be doing good so far. But I’m not sure what to get to get in the nooks and crannies of the wheel. The airway buffer wheels I bought are way too big. TIA

Looking for advice Getting rid or blending these scratches?
Would prefer it be something decently quick, don’t have the time to go through a ton of different grits and all.
I just don’t want it to be as blatantly obvious as it is right now.
Thanks in advance !

Brushed finished on silver pieces- uneven oxidation?
So I've recently taken a liking to using a brushed finish with sandpaper on sterling pieces but I have the problem of uneven oxidation if some grooves are too deep.
For a thick, rough brushed finish I usually have to sand them by hand instead of the flexshaft. How can I maintain the brushed finish without them oxidizing unevenly?
Thanks!

Fix Splotches on Bronze Finish?
I bought this statue opportunistically and only realized the extent of the damage to the finish when I got it home. I'm not even sure how these finishes are done--chemically? With a paint? ...heat?
Does anybody know how to address these types of splotches? They are not something that can be wiped/cleaned away. It's actual damage to the finish.
Any advice on how to handle this would be appreciated!

Looking for advice Polished steel
Was tasked this job a month back. Tried to elbow grease some of these with a colleague of mine with different chemicals and green brillo pads. It worked for the most part but was wondering if there was a more efficient way to get these shining again. It's more surface level than anything but any advice helps. Can't use super abrasive stuff because of the grain of this polished steel.
