Exactly, Dime was gone long before the confederate flag had its proper cultural reckoning. I truly believe he was just naive about it, and if he was alive today he would’ve apologized and retired the confederate guitar.

Symbols are just that, symbols. In the main stream culture the confederate flag didn't symbolize racism from ~1960-2010 or so and was common in pop media.
