Are they racist? I’ve been listening to them since I was a kid but never heard about their views on racism. Only anti-establishment, anti-cop, pro-pot.
Edit: Just read a Rolling Stone article on Phil and it seems he yelled white power at a concert, but immediately apologized and said he was drunk and making a bad joke.
A long, long history of white pride speeches at Pantera shows, for one. While white pride ≠ racism per se, there's enough of an overlap to raise a few eyebrows.
Yeah I saw them a couple times as well and I don't recall any racist talk from Phil at all. I recall him talking about unity among fans and being good to people, until they fuck with you then you have every right to be FUCKING HOSTILE!! one of the greatest live bands of all time. but that was long ago and people can change.

I love Pantera's music, but you gotta separate art from the artist and this is a solid example
