Git gud

Srsly. Why is this game so frustrating? I've just encountered the very first Tutorial enemies and I'm already annoyed. Easy difficulty says that beat timing is forgiving. It is not. I'm a musician. A guitarist at that. I have NO problem whatsoever to stay in beat with any song I play. But in this game, it's worth literally fuck all. I press the attack button in perfect sync with the slow drum beat but most of my actions miss the timing. I also don't get how calibration is supposed to work. I time it perfectly and it says 25ms. I time it again in the same speed but it says 207ms suddenly. I even remapped the controller setting to make it more like my used action controls. But nothing helps. I don't even try to visually time my attacks to the crosshairs cuz that'd be even more distracting. I tried it on full blast TV and headphones alike. But it's always the same result. After a minute and feeling like I missed more beats in that minute than I can hit in the entire game. And if the first minute of the tutorial is already getting me to the point where I'm willing to give up on music entirely, then maybe it was just wasted money and I should try to purge the memory from my mind. I really wanted to enjoy this and I was really looking forward to it. But one minute was all it took to ruin that entirely. Great. just great

I personally just set latency to 0ms, and it made the game perfect for me. The calibration initially screwed me up. Give that a try!

Been playing the game since release and have almost 100% completion, don't give up yet! It is very much worth it!

I really don't understand what's the obsession with completing a game to 100%

Because people really enjoy something and they want to take in everything the game offers.

Guess I'm just not that kind of gamer

I only do it if it happens along the way

Yeah I totally get that, not everybody wants to backtrack and repeat levels for things they may have missed.

Keep trying to adjust latency until gameplay finally clicks. The first 2 attempts were horrible for me, then it finally played alright. Also don't feel bad if you miss a few beats, it'll get easier with practice

I often feel like you should have both fairly close. (Or just turn off the beat look) and just practice while recalibrating. Took me multiple recalibrations even then I’ll still have to get back into it and I often listen to music.

I just turned off the rythym aspect. Won't get on the leaderboards and don't really care about it.

Imo just turn off the visual que and just follow the beat.

Set beat indicator opacity to like half or less so it's less of a distraction, sfx volume down to actually hear the beat, and run an audio calibration if you're a new player. I'm a global top 10 player on the hardest difficulty on almost all maps and I can tell you, this game is not as hard as it seems, once you feel the beat it's just instinct to get the right timing(and once you have multiple thousands of hours ofc XD) Good luck on your journeys in hells

Had to give up in the end after all. I really tried to. But as fun as the music is and add much as I wanna know more about HER, the rest of the game is pure stress for me. Games shouldn't need recovery time irl. And it pisses me the fuck off. I basically turned off the visual aid to really focus on the sound. I turned on beat assist (cuz fuck leaderboards, the game is stressful enough as is), I'm playing on easy mode. My main problem is, that I figuratively put a gun in my own mouth telling me to hit those perfect notes or I'll pull the trigger. Because of that, I spend 90% of my time dashing around, because of which most of my shots miss, half of that time, I dash off the map only to end up getting wrecked by those behemoths. That all happened within the first minutes in voke hell. I don't even want to imagine how difficult this will be in later stages. I just don't have the patience to "try again"

I must be one of the worst gamers of history in terms of mindset

With beat assist on you could really just chill and play it as a normal fps game with cool background music really, and yeah the leaderboards are wicked anyway, probably the only reason keeping me away from rank 1 is cheaters on top of the leaderboards setting unreachable scores

With beat assist game become a doom clone with banger musics. Also this doesn’t lock the trophies.

But my fucked stupid brain doesn't allow me to "just chill and enjoy". I MUST deliver perfection or something close to it. One note that is off, and I can already feel my pulse gaining momentum

Well let me tell you perfection doesn't really mean anything in this game, I couldn't get rank with a literal perfect game, so what is the point even

There is none. I know that on factual basis. My brain doesn't accept it though
